Whats this? Some commonsense?

Last night EASA released the following under www.easa.europa.ue (Press releases) It's an interesting read to say the least.....

EASA publishes results of Part-Medical consultations:

"Key changes made include the Light Aircraft Pilot License (LAPL) provisions to ensure a balanced approach to this new class of medical certificate that may be issued by General Medical Practitioners. Class 1 and Class 2 medical rules have also been subject to modifications such as the removal of limits for myopia, if the relevant requirements can be met with glasses."

Given that EASA rulings often cascade down here via the FAA into CASA in about 6 months time does this mean that there's a slim chance that there might be some commonsense injected into the medical certificate side of the house at last?
