I saw a AN12 take off from Brissy once, took all of the runway to get off. When it headed east the thick black trail it left looked like it had a cargo of burning tyres on board. You could still see the wavering black plume fifteen minutes after take off!!!!

I've seen the AN225 from a distance at Dubai a couple of time.
It's rather large.
I'd highly suggest that everyone that's close with a camera try to get a few photos of it.

Ugly plane, but funny video. "We have Smirnoff". Love it.
I wonder what his performance calcs were like. Engine failure after takeoff, betcha he was no where near OCTG on climbout.
Anyone confirm it's just an MRH90 that's coming over inside?

Nice one Eurocopter/Aust Aerospace...get all the spotters and media worked up into a lather to help promote your product, and then blame a late aircraft change for the error! That 124 would've arrived in Marignane to load up three days ago...
The 225 was never coming - it was either some PR hack who wouldn't know a 225 from a Cessna - someone says Antonov, he does a quick wiki search, and presto! Or, something more devious to promote the arrival in country of the NFH 90...
Bet ya Jens kicks some butt!

AN-225
how can you mistake the 6 engined Giant of the AN-225 (or as hollywood call it the AN-500) over the Much smaller AN-124?
The Мрія would be pretty good to see in the flesh though... Got to hand it to those Ukrainians and Russians... how does one get a job as an F/O on it?

I'm confused. Was it an MRH or an NFH that came in the back of the -124?
Because if it was an NFH, then it's clearly apparant that the Government DEFINITELY wants them in lieu of the MH-60R for the Navy. They squashed the Navy's fast track request for the R last month, demanding a tender process, and then three weeks later there's an NFH in country?
Could someone be so kind as to clarify for me please?

Impressive aircraft, though. Possibly worth it...Actually, I thought an AN-225 had come to YBBN once, in the early nineties. AN-124s are reasonably common, maybe three a year.
