Whats this switch do??
Ok, who will fess up to the presumably accidental fuel dump at Avalon on the weekend?
Seems while running up engines testing after maintenance some poor sod has activated a fuel dump....and not realised it or not known how to stop it!
Just watched the video of it....and this was not a few gallons of kero we are talking about. If I can up load some pic and video of it I will.
And Qantas wonder why their profits are going down the drain..... literally. It did give the firies and something to do with their spare foam and Kitty Litter!
...........yep its a slow day on pprune.......
Someone said YSBK had its runway swept for them, Avalon must be special to have a kerosene wash!

My colleagues video has been uploaded, and this is just one of several I saw, so it was not a 5 second dump at all....... so if you know what rate they pump at per minute multiply by say 5!

Fuel Dumping rate L382
From memory the fuel dumping rate on the L382 Hercules was between 2000 and 4000lbs / min depending on the number of tanks/external / aux that the aircraft was fitted with.
