With ak this HR mumbo jumbo, eba's AWA's , awards, Pilot commites and what not. Hasnt it all become just too complicated and protracted. Not to mention the lawers and "๖ther" managemant types that get involved.
I heard a story years ago, dont know if its true, about how Reg Ansett negotiated with his pilots. Apparently they met in a hangar every so often. Perhaps over a few beers, The pilots put their claim, Reg would retort "Geez you blokes will send me broke" , but at the end othe day, after a bit of give and take both sides would walk away happy with a fair deal for all.
It would seem back in the old days, people, management in particular were a bit more practical and fair minded.

Guptar best to not mention Ansett stuff it fires cetain people right up and then your thread will dissappear.
My opinion is you need to employ a fulltime specialist industial lawyer approaching your negotiations. Set aside a lot of cash for it but its worth it.
