SkyAirWorld???

My rumour bank is running low so i need to confirm the latest.
Is it true that they shut shop on tuesday ? If it is, my thoughts go out to those that lost their jobs due to another victim of the economic downturn.
That's the end of the pilots shortage

Not sure about shutting up shop, but I have heard that they have at least stopped some flying and canned some guys.

Surprised they lasted this long though.................

the international leasing company repossesing all planes soon due to

non payment of leases
dodgy maintained fleet, 170 bas check and on going fleet maintenance
no guarantee of lease contract holding on in the future
dodgy top management structure
dodgy management plans from day one
dodgy financial status
dodgy current staff and management qualifications and expertise
very high level of familly and friends among staff and management
dodgy future flight destinations
dodgy survival plan in this recessesion
owing money to layed off staff
no guarantee to get new charter work
future liabilities and accountability

and an airline world record on not holding on any of their ongoing contracts

it was concieved on documents and plans from the ashes of ozj*t
by the same fallen ceo.

and they made a lot of enemies in the whole industry

and you can finance an airline so much by selling calenders

as an airline ,the bank deposit they have to show to the government to get permission to start flying must now pay for money owed to staff

even i would like to wish every one luck, the coffin grave has already been dug
its just a matter of time the ropes get lowered.

Charllattan and his plilistines will end up running away and hidding in spain or kabul or denmark.

Remember these , R*ck,M*ck,N*ck and the trolley dolly who gambled on peoples lives.

I do know about the other thread but i could not find confirmation.
Besides starting it here in the GA would be more appropriate since all those guys/girls will end up flying 206's out of Kunnus once again

Hi sms777 i wouldn't write that - I know its tongue in cheek but some of the SAW guys and girls would be hurting no end at the moment and they wouldn't want to even entertain that idea let alone read it. I'm sure a lot of them did their time up there and some how the aviation monopoly game has now given them a lesson they didn't need. Some tough times ahead for some good hard working people at Mair, SAW and who knows where else.

Whilst our shortcomings will be highlighted over and over again as pilots during our renewals or sims those of people that steer the business seem to go unnoticed or unpunished particularly during a boom. I'm not saying this is the case at Mair or SAW but certainly the buck has to stop somewhere.

I don't know anyone or anything about SAW but I can certainly feel their pain. Being unemployed in a declining market is quite scary

in fact it is (was) fitting to put SAW in the GA section as

they did operate as a GA interstate airline,
their corporate offices were in a GA joint,
their maintenance was carried out by now a GA joint,
most of its management were ex GA or GA oriented,
lots of key staffs and confidents were ex GA,
lots F/Os were also ex GA,
lots of Captains were until recently GA
lots of operational admin staff ex GA,
lots of Flight Operations were ex GA,
their maintenace tech services staff are GA,
their aircraft spares stores was like and run by GA staff,
they bought all their parts from Aviall and Tronair,
they use Russel Adams a/c management software, very GA,
all their manuals and technical documents had been rehashed as GA,

to sum up, it had shades of Metros,H**ker P**ific,H**elton,R*x,Pe*rl, etc...

and they were all pretending to be running an airline and compete with likes
of Alli**ce,N*S,Aur Air**ne,Oz**t,Strat**ic,Vir**n,Sky**st etc...

In the end Micha*l Ja**s of Str***ic will have the last laugh.

No sarcasm intended Mr Hat. I am just speaking from experience because i been there done it at the last downturn. I do feel for those guys/girls but let's face it, you may be down a few K's in salary flying that 206 but at least you are still flying.
Good luck to us all.
