Removing the seats to get to remove the wing bolts obviously, and the fuel crossfeed line.
Maybe they should just get a chopper to sling it outa there back to the airport. I've seen it done a few times - just remove any unneccesary weight, and lift away

This particular aircraft obviously wasn't fitted with the "Drop Wings" button that we were all led to believe that Warriors have after the last crash.

VH-XXX, read what you wrote. You said it was the second aircraft he ''had bent'', bit hard to not read that as blaming the pilot.
Sorry, probably unfair. You bore the brunt of a festering resentment from what i see around every airport i visit. Would be a much more enjoyable industry if it weren't that way.
Oh and many post on here, just using a new handle, got bored of the old one.

I wasn't the one that said this guy had already bent the Sportstar. I said that I'd be looking like that too if I'd bent two aircraft - not quite the same as it's not confirmed that this is correct anyway. Go easy......

Either way we can take away that - they walked away, they were lucky, the prop probably wasn't powered, the plane is broken, a bad run for Royal Vic, there are some good instructors there and some potentially crap ones. All in a days work.

It was my flight instructor from GFPT up to CPL, and I would be more than happy to fly with him any day of the week. Extremely professional and skilled, recognized as one of the best at RVAC. If during training I had the choice of whom I'd want in the right seat during a real emergency situation, I would pick him every time. The people who point immediatly the fingers without knowing the facts should only have a look at themselves, first.
The guy in the blue top & jeans looks the the RVAC president, for who asked who 3rd person is in pic.
And maybe that pilot has been good to save 2 potential disasters, instead of winding up in a ball of fire & destroying 2 aircraft! When your students have control, and a situation evolves, well then u must take over from a known point and control the aircraft in maybe not so perfecct circumstances or flying with a scared student trying to assist you. Not blaming anyone, just point of both times he has been involved, he has made the aircraft still in tact and walked away both times. If it is a true mechanical failure, then he is not to blame, and probably found the only flat plain in gliding distance around those quarries & hilly land with tree stumps everywhere. Look on google earth and one will see what i mean.

I cringe when I fly over the Langwarrin area. There's literally nowhere to go down there. There are a multitude of roads but they are shrouded by trees meaning an engine failure will almost certainly lead to the pressing of the wing-drop button. Those quaries don't look much good from the air although these guys have proven they are feasible.
