Morno, couldn't have put it better myself - she definitely didn't suffer fools gladly. Even though she's no longer refuelling, she is still helping people as she has always done. A Chieftain turned up this afternoon unannounced (third aircraft to do so in the last 5 days); she spoke to the pilot & suggested that he would need to go to Olympic Dam to refuel. The aircraft will be airworking in the Leigh Creek area for the next couple of days, & the pilot asked Rosie if he could ring her from Olympic Dam at 7.30 in the morning to see what the cloud cover was like. She agreed - now if that's not being helpful then I don't know what is!

And it was stopped because they decided that over 90Klts wasnt profitable enough
Rosie told me that from the beginning of this year until they closed her down she had gone through just over 114,000 litres of Avgas & nearly 99,000 litres of Jet. Obviously they didn't think that was enough either!

Thumbs down

Well the axe appears to have finally fallen! Heard yesterday that Rosie has been officially informed that Gilbarco will be shortly sending someone to remove the bowsers and the tanks will be removed in due course.

from the beginning of this year until they closed her down she had gone through just over 114,000 litres of Avgas & nearly 99,000 litres of Jet.
Apparently, according to BP, that just is'nt good enough to warrant replacing the tanks.

Well done BP!

Does that mean there's room for another operator to put tanks in?

114,000 litres of Avgas
To put things in perspective - that's only 1 x 200 series Cessna or Bonanza a day!

Gazing into my crystal ball, I see Rosie becoming the guardian of many 200 litre drums. And wait - what is that writing I see on them? Could it be - yes it is - MOBIL!!!! Bwahahaaaaa!!

Same thing has happened at Tumut. BP has taken the bowser out and the aeroclub is on drums.
