Who gets renewal paid for?

Hi all,

Just a quick question (I really don't feel like setting up a poll sorry). Who out there in non-RPT-Land gets their Instrument Renewal paid for? What about DAPS/Jepps?

To get the ball rolling at my last job only the CP had his renewal covered but all aircraft were supplied with VFR documents (one set of IFR docs were available for communal use).

If you're paying for renewals and documents in your career without an appropriate allowance to do so, then perhaps you should be thinking about changing careers while you're still young.

If you work for a good GA operator (and there is at least three), the award will ensure your flying quals are kept current (renewals). Medicals are your own expense, but some might give you time off work to get it done.

My boss had a set of Jepps for every A/C, then an office copy.

I had a previous personal subscription, and continued to use my own, and keep them organised the way I liked.

If you employer is proud they don't pay the award (Kathy), then I guess it doesn't really matter what your entitled to recieve, as you won't get it.

Seems to be different everywhere.

First company I worked for had IFR publications for each IFR aircraft, but I had to get my own medical.
The next place issued each person with a full set of Jepps, and paid for the medical.
Currently I don't get either supplied, but get paid well above the award which more than covers the cost of the two.

Current employer pays for Jepps and Medical. Renewals done in house.

Previous employer paid for Renewal but not Jepps/DAPS or Medical. This only applied to full time staff.

Me!

If you require a rating for your job, it is the employers responsibilty to keep you current! Fairly sure this is covered by the award!

Whoops. Realised I started waffling about medicals and jepps without RTFQ.
All three of those companies pay for renewals. Cant imagine paying for one myself.
