SkyAirWorld

Just an enquiry as to how the Embraer 145 has settled into service with SkyAirWorld, what routes they are operating and how the company is fairing in the present economic climate.

Many thanks

The 145 has settled nicely, the BNE-Cloncurry route showed alot of interest and has been expanded recently to meet demand and offer more availability

Company wise- read all the other threads.....

Second 145 should be around soon-ish

They don't wait for the temp to drop (North QLD places can stay hot all night this time of year). If the TODA is such that max TOW cannot be achieved for the given temp then the TOW is limited as required. From what I have heard this has not been a huge problem yet at the airports they are operating out of.

Would doubt that a 145 would need to be any where near MTOW for departure on the schedule they are operating

I would have thought that there would be a better type of aircraft than the EMB-145 to operate, like a turboprop?

But what do I know?

I agree, I think a tubo would have been better suited to that route...

I believe its 1 more E170, and 2 or 3 more E190's

Unsure if this is still the case and Unsure on dates...

You could leave freight behind (if there is any), or take only the fuel required, or use max thrust instead of reduced settings. As I said, from what I have heard TOW has not been a problem at the ports they are operating out of at the moment.

Where are all these aircraft going to go?

Seriously wouldnt a second hand 'good' quality 737-300 be better in terms of lease price [as they are leasing the aircraft from GECAS I presume] than leasing a brand new 100seater>?

Or the even updated RJ85/100 aircraft?

Updated RJ is ther such a thing??

At Flybe we have 99% dispatch reliability with the E195. Its an awsome bit of kit. Replave the 145 with E170 and have a common fleet.
You only have to look at the order book to see the big airline names who are buying the E jets!!...updated RJ! Ha Ha

The RJ85 / RJ100 is the next model from the BAe series

Flybe is a complete kettle of fish, its RPT services.... Whereas Skyairworld is a charter company with limited RPT [ Soloman Islands]

Isn't flybe ditching its smaller e-jets in favour of Q400s to reduce operating costs? The reason for cheap 145s on the market is that they have never made any serious income for their operators. Turboprops are far more cost effective on similar routes.
