Skippers vs Maroomba

Any recent comments on Skippers and Maroomba would be appreciated. How secure are their Dash8 operations?

Maroomba have a 10 year contract for fly-in fly-out services to Golden Grove with Oxiana which only started a year or so ago. Therefore their Dash ops are fairly secure.

Golden Grove appears to have been taken over by Oz Minerals.

Would that affect the 10 year contract?

Grrr Thread drift; let me tell you a story so I can feed my ego (nobody else is doing it).

Pfft, the Dash is pretty secure. I been trying to pinch one for ages without success.
He he he, reminds me of when I had the job of unsecuring a Cessna *** at 1:00 am airside at Y*** in my street clothes (damn skippy I had my ASIC showing though). Whilst it was totally legal (dispute over who owed who money for parts so somebody chucked a chock-lock on the nose and 'somebody else' chucked a hack saw and bolt cutters into his/her nav bag) security came around twice and I just hid the tools and smiled like they were the ones who didn't belong.

I guess what I'm getting at Wiz of Aus is that if you really really want that pretty little Dash (maybe as a plaything in the backyard for the kiddies) just rock up like you own the joint and nobody will question you. (It's the idiots in balaclavas who get busted.)

Hmmm, I wonder if I'll ever get a job with Y*** Aviation?

Apologies for the thread drift, you can have it back now.

Hehehe..... If the airfield starts with B...... Twas I that fitted the lock. Under instruction of course. Just shows how good they are, and how good the airport security is. I believe there was an extra few $$ added to the account to pay for the infallible clamp.

Away the Morale Suppression Team, Away!

Point taken; I'll behave. (Sorry in an indulgent way... so yes I did mean it).

In regards to the actual topic it seems as though the only info to be shared has been shared.

well then besides the security of the dash8 work what is the real difference between the two companies? the question may seem obvious to most of you but from someone from the outside looking in from very far away i have no idea except for what is on their respective website.

From the Skippers angle only....I assume you have seen the 'exodus' thread running on Reporting Points.

There is a boat departing every second week with newcomers to the great southern land in search of prosperity in the name of Dash-8 for Skippers.
I dont know why they just dont call it Cappers with all the maple leafs working there.
