Qantas Job Cuts/QL Traineeship?

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has any info on whether the recent news of Qantas job cuts will be affecting the Qlink Traineeship? It can't be good news right??

Cheers

Well at the end of the day they still need more pilots. So I see the traineeship continuing until they've addressed this issue. Job cuts will be in other areas of the company.

Yes ....and No

The general belt tightening that is now quite public will affect the Qlink traineeship. It won't stop it completely though. The word is that it is going to be trimmed back to 4 per month. They would probably stop or put the program on hold however it is considered too difficult to restart the trainee program once more pilots are required.

So obviously this will mean that it is going to be a bit harder to get in because they can afford to be more choosy.

Bort.

people have very short memories. just look back at SARS and 911 airlines sprung back after them. the fuel crisis is with us for ever and at the end of the day people still need to travel.
