Qantas S/O to F/O in 18 months
Latest slots out indicate that S/O's who have started earlier this year/late last year will have F/O promotions by June next year. Not bad I say!!

Excellent propaganda tool!
Now go and read the 'other' latest news flash from QF about reducing services due to high fuel prices.
You have the promotion when you're in the seat, checked out.

Not bad at all Beer Baron.
It happened before during the previous big promotional wave and hopefully will happen again. It largely depends though on timing and when you join the company in the midst of a promotional 'surge' or in between them.......

Good on these guys who have obtained quick promotions. Yes it is all timing but you still have to be prepared to move for the promotion (all these super junior slots are PER based 737 F/O). Well done.

I wonder if these promotions will stand given this afternoons announcement of 7 aircraft retirements in addition to 747-400 reduced utilisation?
One would hope that the left and right hand were talking prior to the announcement of slots so as to not dissapoint those who only this morning were thinking with $$ and stripes in their eyes.................

God bless the cadets, what a dream run!!! ...those hard yards in Darwin flying the Brasilia have really paid off!!!
Nunc est bibendum
JJW, with 27 captains scheduled to leave the Classic within two-three bid periods- I think- I suspect they may have been. Also, I thought the 767 promotion may have gone a bit bigger than it did.
Part of me also wonders if they timed the media release for this day due to the fact that all QF drivers would have seen today the massive transfer of crew off the 747 and put two and two together.
Of course, it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was zero consultation with the hard working allocations crew and that this will all need to be re-jigged!
Congrats to those who got slots.

The S/O's in question are not LOA161 cadets, we are talking direct entry pilots who joined this year have been awarded a slot in PER starting this time next year.

Some of the new(ish) intake cadets have been allocated FO slots, so have some of the direct entry people. Those SO's who missed out on slots because of LOA161 may have a win later this year if AIPA succeeds against the company in court.
Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead,Correct the little darlings with the seniority rouse got wide body slots on the east coast instead
Well MUNT nothing I have stated has been
Most are all quite 'little', they are all darlings- at least to me. And most agree (the ones I know anyway) that the whole LOA thing is a rouse!

The 'facts' are though poto that most of the LOA cadets didn't get a slot this time round.....and if they did its in the last bid period, they weren't senior enough for sydney. I am not trying to turn this into a discussion about LOA161 because I am bored of it. Most are able to handle it in a mature manner, cadets and people affected by it.....shame about you.
