I work for TA in Port Moresby, PNG. Its a great company and the flying is amazing, i started 3 months ago, it took 150 hrs to get checked to line because I needed 1000 hrs TT for the caravan, Otherwise most guys do it in 130 hrs are so. The flying is amazing and we fly all around the country, sometimes up to 8 hrs a day. The vans all have 2 Garman 430's and full autopilot which we fly single pilot.

Firstly, good on the young fella jumping on here and putting in a good word for his company, I hope you continue to enjoy what you do and where your doing it.
One question that I am wondering about is that the advertisement is asking for 750 hrs; if you require 1000 hrs to fly the caravan and most need 130-150 ICUS, what you gonna do for the other +100 hrs?
Seems most flying done in the low lying Gulf area with regular Kokoda's. They'd have the newest equipment in the country which must be fun. Bit of a revolving door at the moment with young fellas not hanging around for too long.

Actually GT is pipped by Leahy's Oilmin machine BWC - and that is prettier both inside and out
They may be a fugly looking machine but they sure pull a load and perform well in the highlands - there's a reason why they are multiplying!

Hell, If the $$$ were better, I would probably amble back to the land of the unexpected. I quite liked driving a van.
Have to disagree with some of the negative comments on YCAR, yes it has it's problems but where doesn't these days??
The climate is great, there is plenty to do there and it's easy to fit in - at least that's how we found it. I can assure you all that there are a lot worse places to live.

Well, I have to agree that the climate is a positive for Canarvon.......... and after living there for two years, it would be one of the very few I could think of.
Its close proximity to Coral bay is another. thats about it though I think.

Good company, good machines (Reasonably new) and more importantly the OPS manager is a hell of a good bloke, (**** it's getting hot in here, must lift the collar and have another smoke) and most of the guys that I have know who have worked there, even from the old RH days have been excellent blokes and ended up in major airlines.
Dumb computer can't edit, Pssssssssssssssssssssst, another white can please !
