Thumbs up Looking To Get Back Into The Game

Gday all,

I am a pilot in my early 40,s who has been out of full time flying for a few years with 6500+ hrs

Several thousand hours command on Metro,Kingair and 1200+hrs on small jets
I also have command endorsements on Dornier 328 and J31 aircraft.

Very keen to get back into fulltime flying
I am currently living in Tasmania but will relocate if required

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Try applying for Qantaslink .. they're desperate at the moment and you only need 250 hours TT to get in these days.

I agree with training wheels.
Try Qlink. You could be on the 400 in CB fairly soon, and if you can stand it there, could get a 400 command well within three years. Be aware that CB -SY -CB all day every day can wear thin.
Good luck with jumping through the Qantas hoops. You may find them a little bit more flexible now. I think your experience will help a lot with the lack of currency. Have a look at the Qlink traineeship threads and links.
Cheers

MAXX, with those hours and experience you should consider giving "the game" away and get back into aviation!

You sure you're not confusing wanting to get back into aviation with wanting to get out of Tassie?

Don't one of the operators down that way have a J-31? Tasair perhaps!

Thanks for the replies and comments guys

Ive started to apply to everyone I can think of.

Funny enough when youve been out of flying for a little while you realize the grass is not always greener.

Cheers

MAXXwhy did you leave the industry in the first place if I may. Reason i ask is that alot of it is still the same as it was years ago.

As the saying goes "The grass may be greener, but you still gotta mow it"!
