Partenavia Power Supply

Does anyone who is familiar with the Partenavia know if there is an cigarette style power output in the A/C? I'm just getting some hours in one but for the life of me can't find the magic hole to plug the gps etc into. Even the operator is scratching his head. The thing has an ashtray, but no-where can I find the lighter! Makes running the fancy toys a bit difficult on those long flights!! Xc's
BP.

What's a GPS and why do you need it?
Was your training inadequate?

Ok

I admit it, my training was lacking. But since I'm also lazy, I'd like to find out if it indeed has one.

GPS??

A while back, during a route check, our CP turned off the GPS, to see how the pilot would cope without one.
This did not bother him at all. He reached into his navbag, and pulled out a portable GPS, turned it on and carried on.
I also found that when I queried pilots about the true airspeed they had cruised at, they did not know. Mostly they just quoted the ground speed they had read off the GPS.
I thought they would do better than that. But some did not.

Nah, thats the ALT air and Cabin air pull knobs. Did think that when I first saw it too. Not even sure it has one.

Power supply for the mighty Partenavia, either side of the fuselage and attached to the wings hopefully.

The mighty Partenavia, the Italians revenge for losing the last war.

Found it on one of the oldest Party's in Aus, between the control column and the flap selector just below the placards on the pilot side (above the switches)... I've used it to power the portable GPS, TCAS and ADSB, so it worked for me. But I need all the help I can get

In my time flying the things I honestly cannot remember seeing a ciggie lighter. But experience has taught me that a small number of aircraft have secret ciggie lighters UNDER the panel. Contort yourself so you can get your head under the dash and take a look. Most of them are mounted vertically (plug your power cord UP into it) rather than the horizontal-type socket usually seen in the dash. Hope you follow.

Thats my next search..

Next time I'm there I'll do just that. Doesn't matter if there isnt one, just means I'll need to leave the electric foot massager at home.

Sounds like an easy going CP, in my day the batteries in the portable would have mysteriously gone dead as well!

At which point the pilot would most likely pull out some replacement batteries, which he happened to have in his bag just in case this situation arose!

Some have them... some dont...
And ive noticed they are always placarded as "cigar" lighters! Must be because pilots are supposed to be upmarket...or something like that anyway...
