Partenavia Power Supply
Does anyone who is familiar with the Partenavia know if there is an cigarette style power output in the A/C? I'm just getting some hours in one but for the life of me can't find the magic hole to plug the gps etc into. Even the operator is scratching his head. The thing has an ashtray, but no-where can I find the lighter! Makes running the fancy toys a bit difficult on those long flights!! Xc's

GPS??
A while back, during a route check, our CP turned off the GPS, to see how the pilot would cope without one.
This did not bother him at all. He reached into his navbag, and pulled out a portable GPS, turned it on and carried on.
I also found that when I queried pilots about the true airspeed they had cruised at, they did not know. Mostly they just quoted the ground speed they had read off the GPS.
I thought they would do better than that. But some did not.

Power supply for the mighty Partenavia, either side of the fuselage and attached to the wings hopefully.

Found it on one of the oldest Party's in Aus, between the control column and the flap selector just below the placards on the pilot side (above the switches)... I've used it to power the portable GPS, TCAS and ADSB, so it worked for me. But I need all the help I can get
In my time flying the things I honestly cannot remember seeing a ciggie lighter. But experience has taught me that a small number of aircraft have secret ciggie lighters UNDER the panel. Contort yourself so you can get your head under the dash and take a look. Most of them are mounted vertically (plug your power cord UP into it) rather than the horizontal-type socket usually seen in the dash. Hope you follow.

Thats my next search..
Next time I'm there I'll do just that. Doesn't matter if there isnt one, just means I'll need to leave the electric foot massager at home.

Some have them... some dont...
And ive noticed they are always placarded as "cigar" lighters! Must be because pilots are supposed to be upmarket...or something like that anyway...
