Sharp Airlines expanding
Just sighted on the AFAP website Sharp Airlines are looking for Metro Captains for a base in Adelaide.
From what I hear a great company, good luck with the expansion Sharp Airlines.

Probably for the port augusta rpt.
Would want a sizeable increase in passenger numbers to warrant a metro.
Barely managed to fill the conquest that was used previously.

On the money they're offering, I'm very seriously considering leaving this jet job for it as I'd be better off, by the look of it!
Incredible the dollars on offer in GA now AND about time!

Ooops!
Just saw the add.
Don't know if I'd leave a Jet job for $95K. Be interesting to see the detail of the allowances.
Must admit though, good money for a Metro job when compared to previous years. More to come methinks.

I know the parties involved i the whole sale and it had nothing to do with Sharps ... At least there was no mention of the name Sharps... unless they have a small shelf company that doesnt trade but an internet search of the company shows they are not affiliated with any airline and they have LOADS of cash

Great bloke Malcom from Sharps, take the "FM" away & you know exactly who it is ! I hope they get bigger & bigger, it's a tough business but this/these guy/s have been around for a while & have no doubt learnt from other less successful operators.

Guys.
I am probably making a rod for my back posting here...but I felt I needed to put some of you out of your misery. We are looking at commencing operations around the 28th April, 2008 (if we can get CASA off their a!!!!) with a mix of resource and RPT work. A media release will be issued later this week.
We will be operating from Gate 50 & 51 in Terminal 1 and initially will have 2 aircraft and a small team of pilots. We have been reseaching an expansion for some time and have closey studied Melbourne and Adelaide. We feel the later has more appeal given the growing resource sector. We have NOT purchased any of OCA's assest although we did place a bid for some parts and GSE.
It comes with the obvious risks but given todays enviroment we needed a more critical mass to fully utilise our potential and help spread our costs. As some of you will know its not a game for the faint hearted but we have a great bunch of people working for us to make the transition.
Most of our crew stay for between 3-5 years and many (around 100) but not all have started as cadets and moved on to bigger equipment.
All the best

Hi Malcom.
Well great to see a proactive approach from an employer, that would almost be a first!
I wish you well in yr endevour to expand & to those that go along with you.
You are unique in yr approach here & we as pilots appreciate it.
Again all the best & tnxs for setting the record straight with some facts, PPRUNE as i'm sure you know doesn't see that too often!
CW
p.s. If I ever invent a certain 'growth' enhancer you'll be the first to know, slip slop slap, am sure you know my meaning there !Just a tease Malcom

G'day Mal,
Digressing slightly, the C210 that was on the books at O'Conners, was that the same one you took to Birdsville with a diversion a while back?

Guys.
Yes CW I am follicly challenged I just wish it was from the bedhead!! DG (not sure who you guys are but I will work it out!) I did get a little geographically embarrassed way back then....1984 I think? I remember landing at a station south east of Moomba and asking for directions, been a Sunday they thought I was the flying Pardre!! Far from it!!
There is more to the story than that i.e. fautly alternator (not like a C210!!) interfering with the ADF etc etc....but I can hear you guys yawning.
Those days without GPS were fun.
