Good to see.
That's how I "got the itch", by utilising the Work Experience opportunity in my holidays.
It was 6 days (i think) at Tullamarine with TAA, just as they were changing to "Australian Airlines" and the new B737s.
Last day when I arrived at 6;30, in my cheesy grey business suite the Manager looking after me (Tony Tante) asked if I'd ever been flying before... I hadn't so we quickly paced off to a boarding gate while he halted the gate closer and shoved me on a B727 jump seat... next thing I remember was looking down at all the black cows in the green paddocks, in a turn after takeoff... it was a buzz and a great way to cap-off the week.
I haven't looked back since... well... maybe once or twice
Best of luck with it.

speaking of Work Experience, I'm juggling trying to get W/E at Airservices Australia.. Brisbane ATC centre, I have a relative who works in there. I've been in there before, alike flying, i have had a soft spot for ATC ..
Anyone know who to contact to inquire about that?
Otherwise I'm thinking of seeing if I can get W/E at an airline such as QF or VB..
With a snazzy little ASIC would that increase the chances of getting the jumpseat on a flight or few? (out of interest)
and same question to above... who to contact?

nah..work experience is a program for year ten students
to 'experience the working environment'..
so the student usually in year 10 organises with the host
business to learn about that particular area for about a week
hey pyrotech..i contacted air services australia about
staying at sydney intl airport at their control tower
and im yet to receive any info on that yet..i just
got a reply back from their office about which department
i wanted to work in..
ill post up any news if it comes..

I remember doing my work experience at RAAF Edinburgh with ARDU... It was in the days before sept 11th and security was light! Remember sitting in the back of an FA18 Hornet during an engine run! Talk about adrenalin
Enjoy the work Experience!
