I don't know the reasons as to why people are being knocked back.. And I can't comment on whether feedback is being provided, but I would assume not.

Extremely Competitive

Re read my previous post.
The slightest mistake or wrongly created impression can end in failure.

Not sitting in your uniform...but yes, you will need to be available for a trip with only a few hours notice.

Your roster INCLUDES standby/reserve/call it what you will when necessary.

Too early to say what rosters will look like now or later - but brace yourselves!

Some of the more shabby types aren't getting thru to panels, thankfully.

For the girls...a few 'No's...
No sandals/flip flops/summer (maxi) dresses - this isn't the beach
No mid thigh mini-skirts - this isn't the disco
No bling - you're not Mr T

For the boys...a few TIPS...
Suit...plain and simple
If your pants are too long, don't fold them up. Get them shortened.
Wear a tie, with a CLEAN, IRONED shirt.
BUSINESS style shoes AND BELT...studs and fancy buckles don't impress the QF folk much.

Think it's obvious? Think again. I was at one of these seminars recently, and ALL of the above turned up. None got through. Quelle surprise...

Surfside6 - I couldn't have said it better.

I had payed particular attention to your post and found it completely unrelated to the topic being discussed.
Why would internal applicants be wearing business attire to the interview and not their uniform?
They already are Flight Attendant and would therefore think like one and be extremely familiar with the companies SOP's etc.
I don't believe QCCA will be starting recruitment for outside applicants for at least another couple of weeks or until they have finished their MAM/Jetconnect recruitment drive.
Cheers

LOWP - I think you may need to pay more attention - as for you not thinking QCCA will start recruiting for people outside Internals you are wrong! External recruitment has been going for all last week and there are many who have completed their Panel interviews and are just waiting for the thumbs up or down now..... The first 500 will not ALL (see the all in here LOVELONDON) be MAM either as external applicants groundschool will be starting in about 3-4 weeks!

Just abit of current info for you!

Forgive me LOWP...there are at least THREE of these threads on PPRUNE right now...I tuned into this one about mid-way without realising it was MAM/Jetconnect related.

Whoopsy!

senior first aid???

Mr Seatback

I've been reading your posts and am so glad you are giving us so much info. Thank you.

I recently went for an interview for QCCA. I had all the documentation for them except my senior first aid was expired. I currently work for JQ so i haven't kept my first aid up to date. They told me to fax them my first aid certificate when it had been done. Would you wait and see if i got the job first and then book in or do you think i should try and get in within the next week to do the first aid course. I have such a busy roster. I don't know when i can fit it in. Do you think i would ruin my chances if i don't complete the course soon?

I know it sounds pathetic but it's on my mind and not sure what to do??

The Topic is... Qantas Cabin Crew Australian Interviews

LOWP you are making assumptions.
I recruited CC for Qantas for a number of years.
I have been flying 26 years.
I have a good idea of what I am talking about.
I responded to the title of the thread....... QCCA interviews.
I am trying to provide constructive and purposeful information.

skychild-that is fantastic news which I had not been aware of.. afterall this is a rumour network and I can only really only go off the information that has been given to me. Good luck to all the new applicants.

Mr Seatback 2-no sweat . I had assumed that may have been the case.... No hard feelings

I hear "Katies" have a nice range Mr Seatback. No horizontal stripes for me. I made that mistake back in AIR NSW days

Miss Hostie...

If I were you, I'd get the First Aid thing done soon. At the very least, they'll accept your First Aid course receipt as proof you're about to do it, in case you're worried about missing out. They've done that in the past, and they were doing it last week.

If you still do the course, and don't get in, you can use it down the line for future applications...remember, they need 2000 crew, and if you're serious about this, you'll re-apply if you don't get in.

St John Ambulance do a Flexible Learning First Aid course where you do the theory at home, and come in for a one day practical session and exam, instead of having to spend 2 days off working it, you only have to commit to studying the theory in the lead up to the one day practical session. Done it myself, and as you've done it before, it won't be too daunting.

Hope this helps!

You know me Patty...I'm quite partial to an Osti frock...all cotton, of course.

I always thought you looked rather fetching in that old Ansett number, with the big polka dots and the hat.

New Recruits...Very Welcome

New crew always provide two very important things...enthusiasm and a fresh approach. These things always rub off on existing crew.
Its an exciting time...... expansion and new happy smiling faces.
Yes...I still fly.
Another two years and then its time to move on.
Its been fantastic....nothing lasts forever...I will miss the people and the fact that no 2 sectors crew or passengers are the same...Keeps you on your toes.

Thank you so much.

I will definitely call up tomorrow and book in. I'll fax them the receipt. Do you think that's ok?

Do you think they will let us know by phone or email?

How many per day do you think they need to take? I think there was about 17 of us in the final round. Sorry, so many questions i know....thanks for all help

Faxing them the receipt is a great start...at least, it shoes them you're committed to doing the course.

There's been problems with the fax number, I believe. Be prepared for that in case you're using someone else's fax machine.

I have NO idea how they will let us know...traditionally, it's been by email. Then again, that was 5 years ago...I presume it will stay as email, given my invite etc. was by email too.

As for numbers...who the hell knows? LOL...I only wish I knew for my own purposes. I imagine they're building up a database of suitable applicants to pull for training schools over the course of the next few months/year.

As for the course receipt, I'd send it with a cover page, linking the receipt to the date of your seminar, so they can easily attach the two. Make THEIR job as easy as possible, I believe!

Good luck!
