dangerous goods cert
G'day gang, just wanting to know the most common/useful dangerous goods certificate and first aid course people equip themselves with prior to looking for first time work flying singles up north? And costs involved? Cheers...

Try the above website. It costs $100 and it is valid for 2 years. It is CASA approved and takes about 3 hours depending on how smart you are I suppose.
Hope it helps.

First aid
St Johns senior first aid or equivalent is fine, lasts for 3 years and covers CPR which should be renewed every 12 months (a 3 hour course). There are plenty of places that do it, in QLD you have St Johns, Queensland Ambulance Service, and the Surf Lifesavers as good reputable examples. I've used St Johns for all of mine, but I hear that QAS is arguably better and cheaper though I've not looked too much into it yet as I still have time to run before mine expires.
