Garmin G1000 training
Not sure if they are doing training for outsiders, but it might be worthwhile talking to Royal Queensland Aero Club Archerfield as they are using a couple of Diamonds with G1000 panels at their Airline Academy.
They also have a couple of new C172's and I think (please don't quote me) one of them has a G1000 panel.

There is a PC simulator available for the G1000, specific to aircraft type i.e. Mooney, Cirrarse, etc.
I have the CD for both and AFIK the difference is the engine instrument display. The transition is not difficult providing you get a few hours with somebody who knows their way around the many knobs and buttons.

Not sure about QLD but MEL, ADL, and PER ahve flying schools so equipped. Mainly the 172S model but I think the school in MEL also has a 182 available. PM me if you'd like details...don't like to name-drop.
