Hi SA's,
I myself had Keratoconus but as I am sure just like me you were diagnosed at around 18 years old? It generally only lasts a couple of years then stops around 20 or 21. Even after it I have had 20/20 my whole life, it shouldnt be a concern for you. Man you do what you want to, I had a job pulling 40k a year and I thought I was in heaven (10 years ago) I could fly every weekend, but I had no kids or family then I am not sure of your situation, even though you have a good income, its not what you ask on an internet forum mate, it's what you want! I am sure you can decide what you want , take note of comments here but it all comes to what you want. Good Luck!

I'd say go for it mate... Just fly and worry about everything else as it comes. I figure whats the point of having lots of money if ya ain't happy?
JK, loved ya story... Now about this flying in Africa thing? I'm new to this forum so don't know if I can ask this without starting a new thread but what the hell?
I' at the very beggining of my flying journey (only have 8 hours under my belt, but ya got to start somewhere don't you?), have passed my Class 1 medical and want to go pro. The school I'm studing with will probably send me to the top end of Oz to build up my hours but I would like to know about flying in Africa. Any info would be appreciated and if I need to start a new thread with this question let me know...
Cheers from a first timer

Mate go for gold, Where I fly there are some guys into their 30`s doing cpls even a bloke who is past 50 (I think) doing his instructor rating. You will find that the way the wind is blowing these days that if you get a cpl/mecir, you can find a job provided you can pay for type/companavailable for employment with "the right hours" and everyone`s now realizing y training which is usually heaps, but all the same you will on a salary - this is largely due to a decrease in pilots that. The worst thing in life is regret. You should do it.
