I am interested in the Brisbane MAM base. Anybody know whether non-language speakers get to fly regionally to Asia as well? Do language speakers generally get different patterns to non-language spekers (i.e. fly from bne - syd, then fly an international leg)?

Just thought I'd mention that MAM are recruiting again. They had assessment centres in Brisbane yesterday and today! I know someone that attended yesterday! The newies just keep coming!

Non language speakers still get to fly everywhere. On some regional flights, there is a requirement for 2 language speakers, the rest of the crew don't need to speak the language.

Narita

Hi everyone,

I'm curious - am i right that Narita trips used to be long haul but recently went to short haul? (I'm not trying to start a political discussion about the decision as I'm not current crew and I dont know enough detail about the workings of everything yet...!)

I'm just wondering how much time crew get while on these trips, and what there is to do if the Narita airport is so far away from everything?

Can anyone confirm Brisbane just had a recruitment day for MAM? I'm so annoyed with myself because I must have submitted my application only a couple of days beforehand and so obviously was not considered.

Do they only accept a certain amount? Or is it generally everybody who fulfils the criteria?

Roaming wolf , the 9% is a compulsory minimum that the employee must pay.
It will vary with your week to week earnings and will accumulate in the designated fund .
Hope that helps.

Commonwealth legislation means the employER must pay a 9% contribution. Any contribution from the employee is voluntary.

I just received this message from MAM when I asked them about the Brisbane recruitment day:
---------
Thank you for your email with regards to all Recruitment Day sessions.
As you may be are aware Recruitment Days are via invitation only. Selections are made at the time a Recruitment Day is to take place and are based on the criteria we are looking for at the time, along with all candidates registered on Staffcv. As Recruitment Day numbers are limited we cannot guarantee that a future invitation will be provided to you at the next available date.
Your application still remains current with us through Staffcv and we ask that you continue to keep your details up to date so that you can be considered for invitations when Recruitment Days become available.

Kind regards

The MAM Recruitment Team
------------

It sounds like they basically said my application didn't fit their criteria. I don't understand though

Anybody else have to go through this before they were invited? I thought it'd be easy to get an invitation but not to get an interview

You will still get a call for an interview. Just be patient for a couple of months or years.
