Anyone seen todays ad. GEA is looking for an enthusiastic CPL Pilot who is willing to do 12 months admin work prior to commence flying. Dont know of many people who are too enthusiastic to do paperwork at the best of times.

Yeah I saw that too. With the current climate there is absolutely no reason to take a job where you have to do 12 months in an office.

For someone who always relied on the shake a tree and treat people poorly because there aren't many jobs going theory is finally get some just desserts - oh how the tide has changed.

And I've heard there's bugger all flying for the current crew, so would be very cautious. Almost got the impression of things winding down... but then that's just me.

I would love to know how many applications they get for a rewarding year of officework with the possible promise of flying a single after that.

Going going gone.................

Sources tell me that in the last few days two more chieftain drivers have given notice. So well done to both for hanging in there under extreme conditions and goodluck. Both are PA31 drivers so there will be another funny advert soon.

The advert should be expected to read: PA31 Drivers required, 3000TT, 1000ME, 200NGT, 100PA31, and expected to live and work in derby, broome, or port hedland under the bare minimum award, $10000/12mth bond, experience on other company types preferred (B737, Piaggio Avanti, C208, Kodiak, and the C206-D)

WOMBAT.

I wonder if they are being paid the GA award wage? 8 hours of admin a day at $50 an hour or whatever it is.....

Do they supply a house? The rent in Port Hedland is absolutely horrendous...I just checked a real estate website out of curiosity and the only house on there was $900 a week !!!

"Golden Eagle Airlines wishes to thank all those who recently expressed their interest in our listed Administrative Opportunity; the positions have now been filled. Your responses were overwhelming and we wish you all success and progress within the industry during this dynamic phase of Australian Aviation history."

I find it somewhat difficult to believe that in the current climate anyone, let alone a series of people would apply for 12 months of admin work with the possibility of single engine line work at its completion.

I call wind up.

Surely the money spent on this useless advertisement would have been better spent elsewhere at the company? Suggestions anyone?

I dunno, maybe a new lifejacket or two? A new set of seat covers or just some carpet cleaner for you landof? um, maybe used for the telstra business awards application? Yeah, many important things to use it for.
