I wonder if the recent pay 'FLUCTUATIONS' contributed to buy the tickets to the Telstra Small Busioness Awards?

So did the budgee get back the beloved RFDS clinic contract?
They dont have to have it anymore. Saving money is easy now because pilots "Only get paid Anual Leave Loading if they are made redundant".

Does a "business awards" thing seem like a crock to anyone else?
Sounds like it is nothing more than wasting time on an application about how great you are and waste time & money going to a presentation all for what? To make yourself feel all warm and fuzzy? You probably just get a certificate/plaque and nothing else, and to know the only reason you got anything was because no-one else applied anyway.
Anyone got any suggestions on where time/money/effort could be better spent for a small GA operator?

My source informs me that the leave loading may have been paid on the inferred 'owed' leave..bout time. Its probably been taxed at the highest rate though.

Hey L4X, I Concur (hahahaha)

Interesting to see who actually nominated. If someone nominates themself then its a little like a kid I went to school with. Daddy bought him a shelf full of trophys in all sorts of sports that he just didn't/couldn't play.

If KR keeps spruking about awards at work this week we will just have to ask him if he is speaking about the AWARD WAGE.

Cunning Stunts for a small business owner to be pulling in an election year when industrial relations are going to play such a big part in who gets ellected. We may see a 60 minutes team in Derby asking WTF? before you know it. I am sure Carol Martin would also like to know about people not getting their entitlements in her electorate.

Workplace reform,,,,,,, Hmmmm. If it was ever needed anywhere it is here.

Like I said on Page 2. LOADINGS ARE PART OF THE AWARD.

But that post got deleted

OMG, What a list. Awsome stuff.

The only other award I would like to see for GEA is THE DARWIN AWARD for UN-NATURAL SELCTION.

Lets hope that none of the pilots or Pax have to qualify before KR dose.

More Stories

Could ex GE pilots please give us some more stories of just how wonderful it was working for this mob. They are so much fun and they make me feel better about the professional, safety- orientated, loving GA operators I have worked for

(the other threads are some damn depressing aren't they? makes me wonder are any pilots happy, anywhere!)

Jeez, I just spent about 5 minutes laughing uncontrollably (I mean, seriously uncontrollably) at Malley4's awards list, and the "high-speed pineapple" - s I'm still laughing.

This thread is SOLID GOLD!!
Not just 'cause it is HILARIOUS, but it also seems to be chronicling the demise of a bottom feeding scumbag operation with aroles at the helm.

Bravo. Yep, as many have said, YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW.

REAP IT. ENJOY. Can't say it enough...

It wasn't so long ago that:
The aircraft were THE BEST maintained in the Northwest (thanks to D O'N and crew), and the second best (behind KFS) presented. Many pilots from neighbouring companies looked on enviously and coveted the jobs.
Rare morning starts before 6am.
Rare finishes past 6pm, other than night freighter.(How they desired the night hours!)
Award wage + 10%, + Super, + paid 6 weeks holidays, and a tax reduction scheme which made a lot more take home pay.
The boss was, is, and always will be, a bit of an a&%e, but in the wise words of his longest serving staff member "If you don't fu^k up, you only have to see him twice a year." And as for this staff member recieving the "Why the f*(k award", he is wise enough to know that life is more than your job.
Sad to see the demise, at least for the good staff past and present, which doesn't automatically include every pilot that wandered through with ego unmatched by ability. Plenty of those around, read this thread.

Perhaps we could start a discussion on how(according to the chief pilot) EMERGENCY FUEL FIREWALL SHUTOFF VALVES Do not need to be tested in GEA so even if the pilot is aware they are not working he can still fly for the day and then tell someone about it when he comes back, or not.

BRAZMAN, I believe you can fill us in on how to fly a Chieftain without all safety systems functioning. Go on, like Dingo says,,,,, Say somethig stupid again and lets get the thread back where it should be.

Between Brazman and piladies the thread has gone another 3 pages just due to their stupidity.

Is there a EFFSV on the Brazillia?

Don't start with the firewall shutoffs or mentioning serviceability issues, it could open a HUGE can of worms on a GEA thread! Ah yes ye olde tech log, I believe Jedi was once a long time record holder with that document...

Jedi's problem wasn't that he knew how to use it but that he knew how to use it properly! He'd write what the defect was, because it simply was that the instrument failed. However this was the wrong way of course as he was meant to write, "instrument showing fluctuating indications"! (me thinks Jedi suffered a lot from doing things properly but the wrong way!) See in the second case 'someone' could simply write something along the lines of "Ground tested serviceable" and he'd probably find that things hadn't really improved all that much. The way Jedi and others would write it, the aircraft would sit on the ground until the instrument had been shipped from somewhere in Aust. and installed because there were none on the shelf. Some two weeks would pass. am i right jedi?

AAAAWWWWWWW Sh!t F Wedy

M4, What happened to your award list? You put so much work into it, it is sad to see it gone. Was it you or was it 'MODERATED'?

I would like to place a bet on the award for the most pilots scalped award. Between Skippers and Rex. Given that Capt. K. has been known to tell Skippy's that their pilolts are not allowed onto the Broome hangar (where their office is) then I think Rex will end up hands down winners. Anyone care for a friendly wager??

Now I think there is something in this for all of us, taken from www.dicksmithflyer.com.au/article_23.php

The fact that most aviators on PPRruNe (Professional Pilot Rumour Network) have to use a false name is an indictment of what is happening in Australian aviation. It is almost as if we live in Iraq or Yugoslavia where it is risky for a person to openly identify their views if they differ from that of authority or the Government.
Is this ringing any bells in the gorilla cage?

We can take comfort in the fact that if we were in Iraq, gorilla would not have the guts to pull a trigger himself, but would send an email to one of the clerical staff telling them to do his crimes for him.

From experience, when people in this company have any info on the employees they will use it against them. Finding out who the new employers are calling them to try and get their ex employees fired, speaking to members of staff with the new companys and telling straight out lies about people. then haw about the "Private" electronic communications with pilots from management, that are blind CC'd to other staff just so they can spread inuendo, is it any wonder these scum have sporned this sort of a thread?

Before you threaten legal action, just think of the consequences. Some people tend to fight fire with fire. Slander is a dirty word, and faced with litigation, perhaps the realestate values in broome and Hedland would indeed be seen as fair compensation for what has been said buy Gorilla, one example, infront of witnesses, about people who have done nothing but ASK WHY they are being treated like this, or WHY their pay is not in their account.

Like Counter Rotation said. REAP WHAT YOU SOW

Happy Sabbath Bi-ACH

Ex Mexican

Perhaps D O'N would still be doing a fing great job of maintaining those aircraft if KR hadnt reported his own engineering to CASA. Thats right, didnt speak to D O'N, just went straight to CASA about work done. DOSE THAT COUNT AS A PRECIDENT ON HOW TO ACT AT GEA????????

If that is the way to act, then perhaps pilots should also go straight to CASA about the Firewall shut off valves "not needing to be servicable for flight".

Eagle-boy,
Ummmmmm... can't see where I mentioned precidents for any kind of behaviour at GEA. I merely stated that things have been better in the past for staff.
Anyway, if this is true about the report to CASA, it's sad and I was unaware. Excuse my scepticism, but why would he report his employee? Would it not bring undue and unwanted attention from the toe-cutters to his business? Uncy K was always pretty willing to send people up the road or at least threaten it. Strange behaviour is/was not uncommon, always look to left field!
