No more "buy a job" at jetstar???

I bet you still have to pay for the endorsement when the 787 arrives though. The board no doubt sees pilots as a way to further line their own pockets.

Don't forget to take EVERY sickie people - show them the respect they obviously have for us.

"And remember we do get training credits from the manufacturer for the introduction of the new aircraft type so the training of our engineers and pilots are covered by the introduction costs of the aircraft"
Allan Joyce

And why has it come to this? Becauae WE have allowed it!!
In the last 10 years the industry here in Australia has undergone a dramatic tranformation. Work conditions are diminishing and career prospects are uncertain.
It's time we sent out a collective "get stuffed". We're professional pilots, so it's time we started treating our conditions with the same professionalism.

Hear, bloody, hear!

Aspiring Jet* drivers please don't consider Jet* to be a great option just because the pay is so much better than what you're on in GA. It's not a GA operation. Like it or not Jet* is a fully fledged international airline now and the pay and conditions should reflect that. Don't let these companies drag down the quality of life for all of us.

Professional pilots of Australia and New Zealand, we've got to start letting the management of our respective companies know that we won't tolerate what their doing to our profession.

A wee bit off the topic I know, sorry. Head here to continue along that line of discussion.

I haven't heard that they have stopped charging for A320 endorsements...if they have, and I'll check with mates inside, that is a good thing.

Once employed subsequent type ratings are at Jetstar's expense and a bond applies...has always been thus.

They are not the evil empire and dissinformation about what you do or don't pay for once employed serves no useful purpose.

All aspiring GA drivers should be aware that QF FO's are queing up in droves to move to Jetstar to improve their chances of command.

I cannot believe the crap that I read here sometimes.
If someone wants to ge to JQ or VB and pay for an endorsement who really cares!!! It's their money!!
If they are currently in GA or a Regional its a step in the right direction.
I say good on anyone who gets a jet job in this country and lives where they want to and can enjoy their days off like me on the bay catching plenty of big ones!!!
If you don't like it F%#k Off O/S and compare the difference, I know where I'd rather be!!

Good call G cantstandya, I agree. Why should someone living in Australia expect to get treated well by their employer? We should just be happy we have a jobs.
