Mr Ware was indeed stating the facts, and while I mean no disrespect, the plot will thicken - just how much remains to be seen.

The truth always has a way of finding the light!

What is with this constant media bashing on this website? The way you guys behave would make one think that everything single aviation item that is reported that is reported in the media is wrong, in sensitive or a deliberate beat up. This guy has said nothing that reflects that the pilot was at fault. The media have simply reported that this pilot has been previously dismissed for safety breaches and that is a totally fair and accurate and relevant report to issue, if it is true. Stop bleating about it and getting all misty over the fact that the media , which you are really all addicted to, is doing it's job.

Stop sooking and live in the real world.

Well said victor two!
You all should wake up to yourselves. Accidents happen. It is a fact of life. I bet every single one of you would not be bashing the media if you lost someone in this accident or LHR. Instead of slinging sh1T at the media and the ATSB everytime there is an accident, how about sparing a thought for the paying client, as well as the family and friends left behind.

With all due respect to all recent posters may I suggest that everyone take a chill pill and a deep breath!
Mr Ware's comment may or may not have been factual, possibly been imprudent and/or in poor taste and the Media statements also may have not neccessarily been in accordance with good journalism ie, to only report facts, not opinions masquerading as facts.
Let us wait upon the BASI reports and ignore what is reported in any form of media until then.

'Nuff said!!

Tragic accident

I believe this Aircraft was newly placed on the Australian Register, just wondering if anyone can explain what is required AD wise if it was flying in another country up until export? I am assuming that all AD's would need to be complied with according to CASA in order to gain a VH rego.
A sad loss for all concerned.

Duke 666, you assume correctly; A/C complied with all ADs and registration requirements of CASA and was a very nice airplane to fly.

Dont belive i am sooking at all victor two.
you as everyboby are entitled to your opinion, but opinions often change due
to different circumstances.
If your mother was on board or your brother was the pilot your opinion would be different. Comments that are hurtfull to those involved and have nothing to do with what has happen dont solve anything.

Regardless of Brendans past, it should not be dragged up now, purely out of respect for the gentleman and his family.
If an engine has blown up, or a wing has fallen off on this ill-fated flight, what on earth would his past record have to do with this accident?
Can we just sit back and wait for the ATSB to do its job?
I don't know this fellow who was interviewed by the ABC, but I really question his motives.

It must have been a very serious breach of regulations to warrant advising CASA and the current press statements.

I don't think Mr Ware considered this matter serious enough to warrant advising CASA or issueing a press statement!!

Why are pilots (especially dead ones), such sacred cows?

I think you guys have every right to be pissed off at the media. The report I saw showed one bearded gent blaming the incident on engine failure, and in the same report, the pilot's former employer was heard to say he was dismissed for some kind of disciplinary measure, and then the reporter stated pilots get infringements as often as drivers get speeding fines.

That is unfair to the industry. V2 that is the same media who, when a Korean student somehow managed to crash a C172 in a suburb of Perth 5 years ago, with only minor injuries to the other 3 on board, Dixie Marshall of C10 (I think) came on praising his incredible piloting skills...she "forgot" to state either then or in the following days that the plane had in fact ran out of fuel, or that he could and should have landed at Perth instead of trying to make YPJT.

Or the same media who reported the plane crash, coincidentally belonging to the same company as the latter crash in Perth, and piloted by a certain US ex-navigator, which also ran out of fuel. Again no follow up reports to state the FACTS and level the playing field.
