Not to mention just normal tire over heating from long taxi at max weights and high speeds even if you don't touch the brakes!

Sorry Bill, my dismal attempt at a bit of humour

How's the 1st looking? All the lads primed to give the leprechaun a taste of reality? Good luck with it all Mate - would never had happened in Arngrimmur's day.

Can't help but think that the northern end of the freight apron at Jo'burg would be a fair distance to the 03R hold...

But returning north - wouldn't the top (eastern) end of terminal 2 at Frankfurt/Main be a bit of a hike from the far (36) end of the new strip?

Longest taxi

QF 108 last winter in JFK. After pushback 56th in line. Got to #2 and a Turkish Airlines A310 slid off the runway. Runway changed. Due crew hours, had to return to the gate.

11 hours 50 minutes!!!

Yeh, i read about it in the paper here, its only in 'The Age' archives now so you have to pay to read it, but the description is "'Hell on flight 108: getting home is a 56-hour ordeal' - Steve Foley was among the passengers affected by the worst snow falls in New York's history."
The rest of the flight wasn't quick either. you'd be shattered if you were stuck in cattle class for that long!
