IFR Simulator Training.

Is there any simulator centre in Sydney or Melbourne that specialises solely in IFR training which is independent of any flying school? There used to be Precision Flight Training at Bankstown but that was years ago. I need to do a GPS endorsement and some practice for my renewal. Would appreciate any info.

Precision Flight is still there, still operating, but have moved around the back street near AerSpace and AOPA.

Did you want GPS as in enroute and DGA, or do you mean RNAV/GNSS (formerly GPS/NPA)?

Not sure if they can do RNAV, but the DGA and enroute stuff shouldn't be a problem.

Is he the famous "Footy Franks", ex CAA and Vanuatu ? or just a similar name?

MF: Yes - he is the famous 'Footy Franks', CAA/DOT, VanAir etc. Current Gig is at Sunland Aviation and also Test Pilot for Cirrus Australia.

Excuse my ignorance but why must the simulator be 'independent of any flying school'? There are excellent schools at both bankstown and moorabbin which supply high quality IFR training in simulators.
