CM must have been really pissed off about the amphib going over in the drink.
I guess CM pays for having pushed employees to work almost 7 days a week. I have heard of Alligator employees doing stupid little things wrong because they are fatigued. I guess all that work you do for free on top of the wage you earn isnt that great for the company in the long run. How much longer will CM realise that.
anyone get photos of the amphib in the water?

WHAT A SHAME
If all this is really going on,what a sorry state alligator must be in.
when I was chief pilot there many years ago i would never have expected anyone to do anything dodgy.
Im sure any body that was working for craig around the late 90's and early in 00 would remember we tried to run a proffessional company, sounds like its really gone to the dogs.
cheers

I've seen a picture of an upside down float in the water with a wheel showing in the down position, reportedly from this accident. Nothing on the ATSB website of any accident though. Was it reported?
It would have to have been.
I don't recall reading anything concerning the accident in the ATSB weekly summary; however it can take weeks for something to appear in there.

Chuck. Yeah, there was two.... One on amphibs, one seasonally on floats for the dry/wheels for the wet.
Craig did have the opportunity to have a strong hand on the tiller, but didn't take the opportunity last year when it was offered.

the problem with AA is that the CP has trouble doing his job , because of BM im sure that some would agree that ops has 3/5 ths of F all to do with the hiring and firing of pilots nor the responsability that comes with the the CP's job. HOWEVER how do you as CP claim back the responsability when BM is up the owners son!!!
You know, just over a year past a CFI with no relation to AA I know of, was talking up just how great AA was/is to me when I was having a chat with him in his office. Glad I'm not there, sounds like a coal mine.
Or were they genuinely good operation up until recent times?

But its simply a matter of some people within the company that are running their own little show of politics/seniority/bastardisation/whatever that ruin it. I hope for those now concerned and for future generations (and the owners) that these "big fish in small pond" (such a good analogy, thanks lead_struggler) move on or get fked off.

Incidentally, I didn't realise there were any DHC-5s on the Aussie register. I'm looking to fly a D model in Ceylon shortly but to pass my endorsement questionnaire I need to know the both engines inoperative V speeds - you wouldn't happen to have a QRH on you to help me out?
