VMC Class G - A quick question?

Just reading through ops at non towered aerodromes published by DOTARS and it says for the VMC criteria in class G airspace that carriage and use of radio is required when operating to these conditions for communication on the CTAF or area frequency.

Does these conditions mean when you have 5000M of vis and are clear of cloud or does it apply when your 1000' vertically from cloud and 1500M horizontally from cloud?

Thanks

BK

When at or below 3000 AMSL or 1000 AGL and clear of cloud (i.e. less than 1,500M/1000FT clear of cloud) is how I'd read it.
