Origin

How do you apply to Origin. I couldn't find any employment links on their website.

Do they use a recruiting company or do you just snail mail in an application?

Snail mail. Though you would probably be better off visiting them - if you can -- i note you are in South America. Maybe a call would help.
But beware if you try snail mail you may not get any reply from them (my experience). Good luck anyway.
Also try Eagle via StaffCV...

PAY!!!! my god mate... you want pay????

subsistence:means for subsisting:the minimum(as of food,money,shelter)necessary to support life.

A little sarcastic for sure, but dont expect much.Entry level payscales are never worth bragging about......

A tried and true way to do this is to find yourself a partner who is making good coin, whlist you are going through this sagarso,as I have seen grown men cry when looking at their paychecks(myself included)...PB

For J31/32 F/O $29,000 or $30,000 with ATPL subjects. Increase of $2,000 after 2 years, and a further $3,000 after 5 years. There doesn't seem to be an annual adjustment for inflation, so you will effectively have a salary reduction of about 3% per annum.

Ah yes, to be able to fly and get paid at the the same time! Very true heathmac1. Oh, for a full-time instructors salary, that would be nice! Better than for a part-time instructor / jump-plane pilot / general labourer. Hopefully one day I'll be able to look down upon a NZ regional FOs salary too.

Just to add to Cloud Cutter's post, J41 F/O's start on 34,500 (35,500 with ATPL's) and receive the 2 and 5 yearly pay increases also. Saying that, it is very unlikely that there will be anymore direct entry J41 F/O's for a while.
Progression from J31 to J41 is currently 9 to 18 months.

ALPA negotiations are currently underway. As you can all probably guess, the most talked about subject is more $$$$$$$$.

Now, if you want to look at the big picture, does it really matter how much more or less you get paid (compared to other regionals), as long as you are flying a turbo-prop in some form of airline it still has to be better than a PA28 in the circuit.

Absolutely, If you're looking at your first regional airline job, you could do worse than Origin. How hard do you guys work? Would I be correct in saying the hourly rate is not too bad?

70 (flying) hours a month would be a busy month for the guys and girls at Origin.

Leaves time to enjoy all the sun, surf and beaches. Pretty sweet lifestyle really.
