Companies that pay the Award.

I thought a thread where People can Name companies that Pay the AWARD or above it, would be a good Idea, gives that company a good reputation amongst pilots and can discourage people to apply for positions with companies that dont, which hopefully forces everyone to payb the AWARD.
Not sure if it is legal to name companies on here can woomera give the OK for this.

Remember that the AWARD includes the appropiate Allowances.

Those who do
  1. Crane Air
  2. Sky Trans ( doesn't pay all allowances)
  3. Karratha Flying Services
  4. Aboriginal Air
  5. Jet craft
  6. China Southern Flying College, (Jandakot, Merredin, WA)
  7. Singapore Flying College. (Jandakot, WA)

Those who dont
  1. Air Frontier Darwin

Skytrans is not a signiatory (spel?) to the Award. They do however pay a couple of % above it. Or at least they did when I worked there. Top outfit.

I have no problem with naming aviation companies that remunerate in accordance with the relevent Award.

However, treat any post with caution - it would certainly not be unheard of for a company to post under a pseudonom user name.

Hopefully employees will set the story straight.

I also hope that Airlines will recruit only from the companies that pay the AWARD, thus making a decision to work for below what the industry expects you to be paid a stupid one.

Skytrans may pay the BASE GA award.............from what I know however they do not adhere to many of the other conditions stated.
According to the guys they do not pay:
1. Night Transport Allowance
2. Payment for working a "rostered day off". (It's in the award )
3. Allowances for sleeping in the "Dongers" whilst overnighting out in the commooonities.
4. Payment for shifting more than 500kgs of freight
5. Meal allowances or breaks for that matter. Again if your stuck in the bush and have to provide your own food.
May be small $$$ in the short term but it all adds ups at the end of day.

Swamp. I have seen the remuneration scales and letter of appointment at Skytrans and I believe they would pass the "no disadvantage test" if submitted as part of an AWA.

They are reputed to be one on the very few aviation companies in FNQ that honour their obligations to staff.

Lots of companies pay the base GA award, but very few (not just skytrans) pay any of the other conditions.

I would like to hear names of operators that pay the entire award!

Anyone?

Aboriginal Air pay the entire award, everything I have ever claimed has been paid. The also have paid for my moving to another base including 7 days off to relocate 14 days in a serviced appartment while I look for another place to live. You never have to wonder if your going to get it.

And another thing when and if you ever work for Aboriginal Air, you will be paid from day 1 ICUS and line orientation, even check rides.

Not like other companies expecting you to work for free until your checked to line. What a cope out. If your going to hire someone, pay him/her! That part of your real business cost, live with it. Stop shafting the pilots we get shafted enough already.

Ask yourself this, even Woolies pays a new employee from day one, and they know nothing. You as pilots do know something about what your doing, ask for wages and dont work for free. Ever

The red smily is not how I feel about my current employer, just companies that exploit there workers in general. If you cant pay your pilots, its time to shut the doors.

Darling Downs Aero Club - Toowoomba, Qld. One of the best schools to work for in Queensland. Didn't have to pay for any check rides, or upgrades.

Danger

This will be a short thread or a very long one is we are here to tell on all the operatoters that dont pay it.
Is this the best we can come up with in the whole country.
Theres a few mentioned here repeatedly.
Goes to show where we are at.
Theres no argument either,It's just very sad that GA is not in much better shape.
To all the operators out there that don't pay the award you need to be ashamed of yourselves ,It's the recommended Minimum!
Your all a Disgrace to the industry!
I worked for five charter operators in GA ,all in capital cities, and only one paid above the award, and they were brilliant.
20% .you do the math.

Paying the award to the letter is one thing how you treat your employees on a day to day basis is entirely another.

From what I know S. Trans get both right.

Yes Aboriginal Air do pay the award and look after all staff well. Great machines too! They do however have an advantage over the average GA company. A not for profit organisation owned and heavily funded by 3 community groups. They dont operate in the same economic environment as the vast majority of companies and cant be compared to them.

I am by no means making excuses for anyone who does not pay it mind you. We all should be working under it. Now that I am on job number 3, I am finally geting paid the award. Took a few yrs to get there.

It makes me feel all warm inside to know that at least there are some GA companies which actually do the right thing!! There is light at the end on the tunnel.......
