Yallingup, WA
I would appreciate your help again folks. I am attending a friends wedding at Amberley Estate Yallingup early March. I am trying to find a field near the Amberley Estate in Yallingup which I can use (PA28). Person I am liaising with at the Estate is enthusiastic, but not too helpful. Their Property Manager has suggested:
"Moses Rock Road (off Caves Road) not too far from here but we are not sure who the direct contact is for that airstrip. In addition a local contact, Wally Lewis / Anniebrook - Wildwood Road, Marybrook may know / also be worth a try"
I have tried pointing out that I am in Cheshire, England; so popping down the road for a chat with Wally is not an option........
Any assistance you guys can offer would be well appreciated.

Re: Yallingup, WA
There used to be a strip called BUTCH owned by a guy named Butch Guthrie just near Cowaramup. It appears on my old WACbut not on the new ERC L, unless they've renamed it BOODGE but I certainly haven't heard of anyone landing there in recent times. I did some meat bombing out of there a few years back. I can call someone down there tomorrow and see if I can get more info for you.
The next closest ones I can think of are Leeuwin Estate but that strip is reserved for people having lunch at the restraunt. Perhaps your friend at Amberlie Estate could pull a few strings for you there.
Failing that, your next closest strips are probably going to be either Margaret River (16nm SSE) or Busselton (18nm E). Both strips about 20 or 30 min drive from Yallingup.

Re: Yallingup, WA
Not sure about Yallingup specifically; I know other fields down that way are often run by their respective Shire/Council offices.... perhaps a shout that way may give you a start in the right direction?? Good luck!
Edit: posted before I saw the above... however these numbers might come in handy:
Shire of Bussleton
Airport - general enquiries
Airport Operations Officer
0417 177626
9754 2333
(For Aus numbers dial 61, then I think it's 08 for Western Australia... might wanna check this for rural areas though...)
