Fellow QF cadets

Hi guys

Just wanted to know from previous cadets, whats it like going to A*r N*rth.
They have told me I have to go to Darwin for some hard yards, before starting with QF mainline, but I really just want stay in Sydney. Is this going to benefit me or is it just a waste of time?
I would prefer to go to Jetstar if I had to.

Your Info would be appreiciated
Thanks fellow QC's

Hard yards working for Air N**th. Thats the funniest thing i've heard for a long time. try flying for a GA company then you will experience the hard yards.
What can you expect. Someone to hold your hand for 2 years in a holiday destination. then another 10 in QF.
Don't stress, money buys everything.

My topic was aimed at fellow QC's. If you dont have anything good to say then don't say it at all.

You want some advice from 'fellow' Qantas cadets Fingers? From one ex Cadet to another, quit whilst you're (way) behind!

Have a serious think about your original post and about the impression you have left not just every other person in GA but every other person who reads this forum- QF and otherwise. Some of your cadet predecessors would have LOVED to be sent to Darwin for a couple of years to fly with Air North or anyone else for that matter. Most people busting their backsides in GA would also LOVE the opportunity to work for Air North to gain some experience. Waste of time? Get a grip.

It's no wonder people rag on cadets so badly! Sometimes they deserve it!

Get to fly in challenging weather
Get to meet a great bunch of characters up in Darwin
Opportunity to fly some good equipment
Build up credibility when you start with mainline
opportunity to develop decision making skills
heaps of hands on time
see the tough dirty side of the industry
heaps of great memories
give some credibility to the cadet program
live in a new city
learn
grow up

no. sounds like a waste of time mate. insist on nothing less than a 380 command.

thank god most of the cadets are more like keg and not that other gay bar loitering homosexual

Just a question to you, mate....

If you're not going to be happy flying the aircraft in A.N, what makes you think you're going to be happy flying a Bus/Boeing for the next 30 odd years?

Was going to give this peanut a serve. Thought better of it. Not worth it. Good luck Tiger. You'll go far. Hopefully soon.

For the first time ever I've found myself hoping that this is truly a wind up and I've been sucked in big time. The alternative is too horrible to bear!

This is going to be great kids.
I can see some very fired up people with a little to say!!!!

Wind up or not, Qf Cadets are now going to be looked at like dirt.
If this is your attitude get out of aviation now before I have to sit next to you for hours and listen to your "tough ride" stories

Gee I thought I had to do the hard yards in GA. Now you tell me I've got to fly a pencil in YPDN. Damn, thought I was almost there.

Get a grip you twit.

The company I work for has some cadets. Generally they work their a's off and try to learn as much as possible. A percentage of them do not (yet) understand the good and bad they are missing out on.

You, with your simple minded post have just shoved a fair number of faces in the dirt.

Not a cadet, or ex cadet but been round the block a few times.

Save this thread on your hard drive, then, delete it from this forum, then, read the saved thread and ask yourself do you really want to fly.

Your original post displays an extreme level of naivety. There would be very few pilots in Australia that haven't had to
  • Leave Sydney (or whichever city is home)
  • go bush or to regional Australia

And even less would have been able to walk into a regional like AN without doing so.

Talk about wanting to start at the top.

Your worried about leaving sydney, i had to leave the bloody country to get some experience. Its been an adventure, lots of fun, lots of crap, met great people and havnt regretted. if you dont want that job i'll take it and so will a sh!t load of other pilots looking for a lucky break.
Give yourself an uppercut mate

A friend of mine got into QC and is a top bloke his attitude is great, he loves his sport, beer, woman. He is prepared to do what it takes to get to where his goal is. He also has taken the time to find out on his own accord what the industry is like in all facets of GA in all parts of the country. It is a real bloody shame that there are some that are still drivin Daddy's car and phoning home when they run out of money at the local brothel.

Growe up idiot, do the homework. Also I don't think the forum was for QC only, perhaps you could ask woomera for your own little space.

Have a winge ya girl.
