You want some advice from 'fellow' Qantas cadets Fingers? From one ex Cadet to another, quit whilst you're (way) behind!
Have a serious think about your original post and about the impression you have left not just every other person in GA but every other person who reads this forum- QF and otherwise. Some of your cadet predecessors would have LOVED to be sent to Darwin for a couple of years to fly with Air North or anyone else for that matter. Most people busting their backsides in GA would also LOVE the opportunity to work for Air North to gain some experience. Waste of time? Get a grip.
It's no wonder people rag on cadets so badly! Sometimes they deserve it!
