Ag Pilots "Joke"?

Somebody apparently sprayed somebody with something. Not sure if its a joke or an accident.

I remember gettting a load of super and clover seeds down my neck more than once.

So somebody had fun with the smoke button? That's happened in one form or another before.

tinny, you subtleness has not escaped me and yes you could be right.

I see the CASA PR expert on all matters aviation is spouting off about this 'dousing' although he obviously doesn't understand the reasons for it as you do tinny

"released parafin oil"

Yes, released into the exhaust to make smoke, similar to aerobatic display type smoke.

It is common practise to use this device to detect wind strength/direction.

Also handy to indicate to people they may be downwind of a treatment area.

Or, if the media is around, to create some sort of major incident.

Feel for the pilot involved, have had to operate in the public eye before. Calls to CASA ranged from "terrorist attack" to "pilot has clearly been drinking"( ) to "surely that is illegal and if it isn't it should be"

The regulator, bless them, is obliged to investigate each complaint.....
