You'd be lucky if they knew what aircraft were going to work these flights the day before let alone a couple of weeks out!! You'll have to try again a bit closer to the day. The 5 and the 32 would both be 744s though!

Exclamation

Beno1,

In today's age of heightened security, don't you think such a request might raise some suspicion? It's certainly raised mine.

Why do you want to know the aircraft rego's, with only 2 posts to your name?

Fellow pruners, I'll accept the cries of paranoia, but please consider the implications before providing this sort of info freely.

These are changed times - please consider.

Ultra.

Im with you Ultra. Its very rare to be asked which reg will operate a flight. .
Sorry beno1, but im sure you will understand that its not a good idea to publish such info.

Geez guys cool down a bit.

You guys must not read a lot of forums, rego requests are very common.

Just so you know I am flying on those flights and am hoping to upgrade to biz class on 32.

QF032 usually ops with a skybed aircaft but I just want to double check.

I still don't know why you guys think regos are some sort of security risk.....

Rego requests are not common and not given on security grounds.
Why would you want it?
If you need to know if the aircraft will have skybeds, then ask Qantas Reservations.

I often hear a lot of people asking for regos. Spotters Airliners.net requires you to provide a rego when uploading a photo.

Why beno1 is asking, I'm not sure

Cheers

Capt Fathom,

Have you ever read the ACARS logs that are posted everyday from all major airports? They list every single airline/aircraft/and rego.

Why are aircraft regos a security risk?

The QF website lists all aircraft regos along with seat maps and other data.

Ozflight lists all QF, DJ, AO and JQ aircraft and regos along with engine type date of delivery ect.

I fail to see your point.

Beno, I'm certain that your intentions were honest.

Trouble is, the people that you are asking cannot differentiate whether or not you have a copy of the Koran in one hand and some C4 in the other hand ready to plant in a dunny on VH-QFA in order to blow up your ex wife!

There's your point. Thats why it's not a good idea to give out regos these days. And the regos that you mention that are posted on the net are all 'past history'. None are listed for future flights, unless on a very special occassion.

Having said that of course, blowing up an ex wife isnt necessarily a bad thing. Just thought I'd qualify that.

QF5 VH-WTF
QF32 VH-NFI

Hope that helps

There is a difference between asking for a rego after the a/c operates as opposed to a week out.

No a/c operating QF5 (FRA) have skybed as all are 2 class a/c which are last on QF's list to be refurbished.
(Probably a better chance to be upgraded)
As already mentioned, QF 32 is always skybed as QF have guaranteed all LHR flights to have them.
(Almost no chance to be upgraded)

No chance either to get FF seats either.....

I have tried to get QF 1,2 31 or 32 in Business or First to LHR return.

Nothing for 12 months unless I take a 9 week stay in Europe between departure & return!.

QF keep trying to get me to take BA Business or First instead.

Anyone here from QF FF have suggestions?.

After the event. We indeed live in changed times Ultra.

I still don't know why you guys think regos are some sort of security risk.....
May I suggest that if you were looking to do something underhanded on a specific flight, making an aircraft's rego common knowledge is indeed a security risk. It makes the perpetrator's job infinitely easier!

If you don't believe me, just ring ANY airline and ask for the rego. You will not get it. The same goes for passenger lists. They are not available either, for the same reason (as well as others).

The QF website lists all aircraft regos along with seat maps and other data.
However, they do not list specific rego's operating specific services, primarily for security reasons, and secondly the Flight Ops allocation of aircraft can be somewhat "fluid" and rego's can change up until almost boarding time.

As has been suggested previously: Contact reservations. They will provide the necessary information.
