Aircraft Performance Categories
Can anyone please help me...
I have a list of 53 aircfraft for which I am trying to find out Performance Categories for.
They range from a C172 to a A340-600. We use these aircraft in our simulator and the only way I seem able to determine the categories of the aircraft is by asking operators.
Surely someone has a list somewhere??

Performance Categories
I'm referring to the IFR Categories: A, B, C, D, E and H.
I know the AIP reference, but this still doesn't help me, as I don't the performance speeds of so many different aircraft.

This probably won't help either but there are no more civil Cat E aircraft, since the retirement of the Concorde. There is a new performance category on the horizon - currently referred to as DL (for Cat D - Large). The only aeroplane currently slated to be in this category is the Airbus A380.

Cat A
C172/ 182/ 210, Piper Warrior/ Lance/ Saratogoa/ Cherokee 6
Cat B
Aerostar, B58, King Air 200/350, 400 series Cessnas, Piper Navajo/ Chieftain
Cat C
I think, but not sure, all 737s and 767-200.
Cat D
B767-300/400, B747-400
Not sure about any of the Airbus types. I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong but I hope this helps.
As a very rough guide for what you're looking for most piston singles will fall in Category A, turbine singles/ piston twins/ light turboprops - Category B, heavy turboprops and light jets up to 737 sort of size - Cat C and heavy jets ie. anything else - Cat D.

Fairchild SA227DC Metro 23 = Cat B
This won't be very helpful but different Australian operators operate the same types in different catagories.
Kendell used to have them in CAT B, and the SAAB340 was also in CAT B, but was in CAT C when One Engine Inoperative.
Whilst CAT C is, generally more restrictive (can't descend as low as a catA/B A/C) the Metro, for example, handles a lot better at the higher speed in the approach.
And CAT-H is, of course, Helo's.
