Hi All,
Just a couple of questions relating to the NZ syllabus...
What is a wind angle and wind correction angle? (drift is there as well, so I don't think they are the same...)
What are the quadrantal directions of the earth?
If anyone could shed some light it would be appreciated!

Not sure what is meant by wind angle (maybe it just means the direction from which the wind is coming). Wind correction angle is the angle that you need to apply to your heading to maintain track and is therefore opposite in sign to your drift. eg. 10 degrees port drift whilst attempting to track 330 would require a WCA of 10 degrees to starboard and hence a heading of 340.
In the UK we have a quadrantal rule for VFR cruising levels and so quadrantal describes how the compass directions can be split up into 4 sectors.
(our quadrantal rule is if heading is 0 to 89 degrees : odd level
90 to 179 degrees: odd + 500
180 to 269 degrees: even
270 to 359 degrees: even + 500)
