FAA ATPL currency requirements.

FAA ATPL currency requirements.

If you hold a FAA ATPL do you have to do a check ride with a testing officer every two years? Apart from the IFR currency requirements?

If you fly under Part 91, you only need to complete a Biennual Flight Review (FAR 61.56).

If you fly under FAR Part 121 or 135, your proficiency checks under these parts meet the requirements of FAR 61.56.

If you have a type rating on your ATPL, you must complete 12 month and 24 month checks (61.58). This requirement is met if you are flying this aircraft under FAR 135/121.
