Looking for a 777 FAA Designated Examiner

Hello,

Not sure the best thread to post this on. I am looking to get in touch with any 777 Designated Examiner. I need to do a checkride to get my foreign 777 rating onto my FAA ATP. I'm an FO currently so only have a SIC or P2 rating on my ICAO license, meaning I will either have to sit a shortened course in the USA or find a Designated Examiner to give me a check ride.

Any assistance will be most helpful and greatly appreciated. I'm just looking for a name or names of some DPE's that might be willing to do a checkride on the side.

Try some of the simulator training companies in the Miami area.

I don't have any names.

You might also try Flight Safety-Boeing in Seattle.

At that level of aircraft you're not going to find a traditional DPE. It'll either be a Fed, an Aircrew Designated Examiner who can only give checkrides as part of an airline training program or a Training Center Evaluator who can only give checkrides for the 142 school he works for.

In addition 61.157 (b) says in order to add a type rating on an ATP or to get an ATP in an aircraft that requires a type you would have to present a record of ground and flight training. The days of just passing a checkride for a type went away about 15 years ago.

I have heard from colleagues that you can take your foreign ATP and have it validated in Canada with all ratings and then easily convert it to an FAA ATP.

Anyone know more on this process?

5-606 CONVERSION PROCEDURES AND PROCESSES FOR CONVERTING FAA PILOT CERTIFICATES AND TCCA PILOT LICENSES.
NOTE: On August 31, 2006, the FAA signed an agreement with TCCA that established a pilot licensing/certification conversion procedure for Canadian pilot license holders and U.S. pilot certificate holders.
A. Applicability. These procedures are available to holders of FAA pilot certificates and TCCA pilot licenses in the airplane category of aircraft at the private, commercial, and ATP levels of licenses or certificates and including the following ratings or qualification: instrument rating, class ratings of ASEL and AMEL, type ratings, and night qualification addressed under 14 CFR part 61 and CAR Part IV. Pilot licenses/certificates and ratings issued on the basis of a foreign pilot license are not eligible for conversion under these new pilot licensing/certification conversion procedures.
