I was told a similar number, only slightly lower, straight from someone closely involved with the recruitment. 80 guys will be called for the first stage. Mathematically I guess that gives us wannabes roughly a 1% chance of getting hired if all applicants meet the minimum requirement.
BUT as they said in Dumb and Dumber; "So you're saying there IS a chance then?" :}. |
When it's expected for them to get in touch with candidates for the selection process? Does anybody has already recived some feedback or official invitation to the selection?
I meet the requirments but for sure there are guys much more qualified then me...just to understand jow much can i keep on dream and wait... |
taz, the information I was given was around week 36. I believe that is within two weeks from now.
|
Thanks for info FlyTCI!

767 crew duringthe summer?
Griffin, or to anyone who may know for that matter, I understand that TUI Nordic operates (1) 767 during the summer and (3) 767s during the winter season. What happens to the additional 2 sets of crew/airplanes in the summer? Are they placed in other countries (D, UK) within the TUI group, or even leased out to other operators?
|
...
There are pilots coming from the UK as well as temporary commander upgrades in TUIfly Nordic.
|
Thanks :ok:.
|
I'm in on that beer CS and Griffin!
Golf soon ? FJ |
Hi guys,
Has anybody been called for interview yet?. Regards and good luck. |
The info I was given is that calls/emails will be made starting next week.
|
All right.
Thanks a lot mate. |
I heard a few already received a "No thank´s" from TUI last week, although these guys barely met min requirements.
If there is any truth in the "800 application" statement, that means around 10% will be called for stage 1, and roughly 35% of these will pass on to stage 2. Out of those only 30% will be selected. If I go all the way, I´ll consider signing up for a few lotterytickets! |
Well...at least they have the decency to give you a feedback even if you have not been selected for the selction process!
But the question is: if it is true that they will call just 10% of the 800 application for stage 1, why the minimum requirments are this low? |
No, that's not the question. The question is how on earth TUI was supposed to know that they would get more than 1000 applications when they are looking for 10-15 new FO's.
Still guys, the first part of the election prosess was pretty easy for TUI, as far as I've heard: several hundreds of applications are from european pilots who do not speak a scandinavian language. An other load of applications are from pilots not fulfilling the minimum requirements. Still, after sorting these out, there should be plenty of applicationes left to make it all look like a lottery with a very few lucky winners. :hmm: |
Errr, was it mandatory to speak a scandi language in order to apply. No! Whether they take on non scandi speakers is another matter....
|
Errr, was it mandatory to speak a scandi language in order to apply. No! Whether they take on non scandi speakers is another matter.... Thus with 1109 applications in the inbox it doesn't matter wether they call it mandatory or not. |
Well guys, I think we should find out soon who is right...
Regards. |
TUI intervju.
Fikk mail i går der jeg ble invitert til intervju 1 oktober i Stockholm:-)
Noen som har hørt noe om prosessen? |
...
Gratulerer med opptaksprøver Mr J. Say hello to Ms M from me :-) Førsta rundan ær som vanligt med skriftliga "aptitude tests". Se på brøk och generell matematikk.

gratulerer
hvilken erfaring har du?
|
12-1300 timer. 5-600t multicrew, turboprop.
|
Serious??
Very disappointed now, didn't receive an invitation despite having 4 times the hours above and being a skandi speaker... :( |
amarela, I'm in the same position as you but I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet. If one of the posts in this thread is correct about them sending out "thanks, but no thanks" emails last week to some people, I don't see why they they would not notify all of who were not called for the interview. Especially if you fulfill all the requirements. Now, if none of those "no thanks" emails were actually sent out, that would be a different story.
Have I not heard something by next week, well then.... Life still goes on, remember that. |
Same for me boys, over 2000 hrs jet and no word. Don't worry about it, either they are very particular about the profile of their pilots or they just haven't had time to go through the 800 or so applications yet. And as mentioned, they seem to send no-thank-you's as well.
Good luck :) |
I CAN confirm the "thanks but no thanks" replies that have been sent out, but these guys didn´t meet minimum requirements. Maybe they stacked a few piles of applications and are going through them one by one.
Best of luck, I´m still keeping my hopes up for a few more days. |
But has somebody recived the "Yes thanks" email?
|
Yes I have received one a week ago :-)
Heard rumors about someone getting the "no thanks" mail, but they didn't have min. rec. hours. |
For those of us who haven't heard anything... is it game over? :(
|
Sure feels that way. Would have been nice with at least a "thanks, but no thanks" email.
Time to look for bigger and better things :ok:. |
Does anyone know what the aptitude tests are like? anything one can prepare for?
Cheers G2000 |
I've nether heard anything from TUI though I fullfill the requrements with a good margin.
Feel weird that there are more ppl like me out there that hasn't heard anything when I know at least 4 ppl who has been calla with only turboprp hours and a total around 1500h. Makes you start to think what kind of ppl they are looking for doesn't it? *Starting to give up hope* |
For all those who are wondering whether they will be invited for the October screening I suggest to email Moa for an update. I did and the reply was that 989 applications had been received and that 36 have been invited. It was also mentioned that I could try again in the future.
For your information: I have 3000+ TT and I am current on the B757/767, I am ex Thomson (TUI UK) and I speak no Scandinavian language. Looking at my profile and the relatively low requirements asked by TUIfly it is obvious that flight experience (on type) is not the decisive factor. Good luck to all! |
989 applications had been received and that 36 have been invited. :ugh: |
jetfly, it seems more and more obvious that they are looking for rather low time guys that have not been exposed to too much "bad" stuff out there and who can be "shaped" their way. If that's the case then it's a shame, there are many high time pilots out there who would be able to "leave" bad habits (if they had any to begin with) at the door and adapt to TUI's way of flying. Seems very much like SAS when they were hiring a couple of centuries ago :}.
What surprises me is to now read highflyer's post saying only 36 people have been invited. Can you confirm they only invited 36, in an emaile a couple of weeks ago Moa told me they had 80 slots for the interviews. 36 guys/gals for 10-15 positions seems rather low, unless they are 100% sure they have found the absolutely best 10-15 candidates out of 700+ applications among these 36. Seems highly unlikely to me . |
I'm fairly certain the assessments aren't done all in one go and judging by the numbers, they have sent out invitations to the first out of two, possibly three occations.
|
Brenoch that is true, they will interview on Oct 1st and 6th. However, if the invitations that went out a couple of weeks ago were all for the first round it doesn't leave a whole lot of room to prepare/plan travel if called now or later for an Oct 6th interview. Not all of us who have applied live around the corner, plus it can be tough to get time off from work on short notice.
I personally gave up hope when last week came to an end, but maybe that was too soon. Time will tell. To those who have been called, good luck and make sure to prepare as much as possible. |
...
Phase 1 does NOT include interviews, only written tests. Interviews and sim-ride will be conducted in phase 2 for the fortunate ones that pass the first day.
|
Does anyone have a tip to what to read up on for phase 1?
Can I find any of the TUI tests online? |
I guess I used the wrong word for the first stage of the SELECTION process. I am fully aware the second stage, Nov 29th and Dec 4th for those interested, will be the face to face and sim ride.
ATP, I would be really surprised if you could find their tests online. If that was the case their hiring process would be nothing but a big failure. I realize it's impossible to police the entire web, but how can one objectively evaluate an applicant if some have had seen the tests in advance? Just go to a bookstore/order online books with aptitude tests and logical thinking quizzes. There are lots of them out there. Even if the questions on the TUI tests are a little different from those you have see in the books you still have prepared your brain for that kind of thinking. |
This is not the actual test they use, but very similar, and great for practise! You got 30 minutes:
