Sterling hiring

hello.

have that Sterling has offered a two months contract to those guys on their type rating course in july and september. Can a company do that, when you think about these 24 pilots who are supposed to leave the company in near future....
Doesn't sound right to me, but then again nothing surprices me with Sterling anymore...
Comments!!!

You mean that sterling are sacking 24 cockpit crew and then taking on guys new to the type on a short contract?
According to Swedish law I cant see that being possible legally, but if they have a contract firm handling the contracts "out of house", it's perfectly legal and really sad for the guys having to leave... If you think of it, this is whats happenïng everywhere with buisnesses such as manpower, adecco etc.
It's really up towards the previously employed, but I guess there's nothing to do.

Angel

As it appears that Sterling are having trouble making money off of their passengers, it seems they are trying to do so from their FO's instead.

My first thought is that they might have some contractual agreement which guarantees them linetraining, and therefore have been offered two-month-contracts for that purpose.

Just thinking - what about the guys taking their TR's during the period feb to apr (3 courses as far as I know). Are they out in the dark again?

Rumour has it, that many of the 24 sacked have allready left, so the company found themselves short on the OSL+STO bases during summer......

That is the case as far as I know. The 24 fired pilots have been offered to stay a few month longer but most of them have already found other jobs. Therefore the pilots from the 3 previouse courses have been offered a 2 month contract.
I think at least some of them will get that contract extended for the rest of the summerprogram......lucky them

Unhappy

About Sterling.

The total mess in Sterling, and the Sicilian methods of the management, the screwdriver tendency`s of the wannabee´s, the ignorant behavior of SAPA, the free fall of the payment, the bad spirit among colleagues.

Sterling is a cirkus, and you the pilots, are the actors - the line given to the management, has become to long.

Dont complain or do something about it!!! First of all UNITE.

And for the pilotunions results until now???????

And for the management results until now?????

Sterling - Work is out there

I know of pilots who have left sterling and have found jobs through Wynnwith. They seem to be very helpful.
