I hope that the similar ruling can take a place on this Nordic Forum. Not all interested visitors can follow Danish/Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish comments.

Thumbs up I agree

Would be more simple and comfortable for everybody if just use english. After that we can throw over board those stupid language politics issues, which I was involved in too. Ofcourse there will be some scangelska, fingelska etc. but maybe we can stand that too and also maybe we can stand also that that not everybody can english as good as the others.

I thought this was a Nordic forum?

PPRuNe is full of English language categories and forums. It also feature "Country Specific" forums like the Nordic forum. If you cannot write in one of the Nordic languages on a Nordic forum - why keep a Nordic forum

As the old vikings always did - Keep it simple

The clip above was from Caribbean and Latin America forum. As far as I know most of that area is Spanish speaking but to serve everyone's interested they decided to use ENGLISH ONLY!

I am sure that you will find some other places where you will be able to communicate with your own language. It seems that english is kind of aviation language and therefore quite suitable between aviators, I thought.

Have Fun!

The main PPRuNe forum page is divided in various sections. This forum comes under the header Non-English Language Forums. The Nordic forum, like the French, Spanish and Italian forums, has been set up specifically for those users who wish to talk to eachother in their own laguages.
Forum users are free to use the English language if they want to, but are under no obligation to do so.

The non-English forums are an extra service provided by PPRuNe when there is enough interest, and there is a moderator available who is reasonably fluent in the forum languages. This a fluid arrangement, and forums can be created or terminated according to how a forum is (ab)used.
Hope this clears up any queries.

Thanks Flaps forty, that clarifies this language issue, I won´t start crying for my mother language but I hope that all the users will now on, allow all the nordic languages in this forum.
Ofcourse, all the common intrest issues would be nice to translate totally or briefly so that we can get everybody in to tha discussion.

Peace and love

Peace for all, love I will make at privacy but not alone...

Snoop Languages

I suggest that all posts from here on should be written in Burjat or Mordva.

Those that do not master these easy and widely spoken languages shouldbe condemned to an eternity of suffering a horror such as watching East-Enders on a continuous loop.

Don't quite know Mordva but Saame must be one of the accepted languages to be used now on.

Talking Languages

Inuit ( I presume that previous post is that, I seem to have seen signs in Kalaallit Nunaat in that language) is as Nordic (Northern) as it gets and as a part of DK should be accepted.

How about Estonian... As Finnish is a Nordic language and Estonian closesly related to it, I mean as close as Danish is to Swedish, Should'nt we be able to use Estonian here as well

So, if I have a piece of local aviation info which is mainly of interest to a limited native audience (and ex-pats from area), nobody else are gonna miss out on much if I use our local language.

On the other hand, if posted in English it may educate the general public – if they'll bother to read something that is of limited or no value for them.

Don't see why this is still debated, as the moderator has already clarified the issue. But please continue the creativity – it sure is great fun to read all those language samples!
