The end of Scandinavian Airlines as we know it....
It is going to be a very exiting day to day.....
3 National airlines and 1 intercontintal airline...but what about SAS commuter - I do not see their name mentioned anywere - what is going to happen to this little outfit?

What about Skyways VS. SAS
As I know from a paper magazine the swedish part will contain only swedish companies! Norway will merge Braathens into a Norwegian part. Danish part standing on its own as the rest of the nordic shareholders.
Skyways is owned by 25% by SAS, it raises some queations!
SAS still has its problem with its overheadcosts, mainly personell issues such as salary, way above common.
We all need a place to work.

Jamen, that is some serious kimchi going on at SAS. Any one have a take on the future and do you think Lindegaard can continue to play the different unions, within the same workgroup, against each other.
And from little I have read, seems like the danes are the ones saying enough already?

Things look slightly brighter now, check danish news on the web, too much info to start writing here. But climate in company has changed drastically in the last two days.
Letīs see if it works. But best news is, that no more people than were originally in the plans, are being laid off.

Some cabin-crews from south Sweden have to move to Stockholm
(600km), since they canīt work from Kastrup. Seem to be a deliberate move to get rid of some older cabin-crew, to fly would
cost the employees 15kuro/year hardly profitable...

Don't believe everything you read in the papers. Should you look more deeply in to the subject you will find that the problems are far from solved...
Pity the way they treat employees who have put a whole lifetime worth of work into the company.

Yeah. Indeed a sad story.
The employees of the former SAS (since 1946) were used to negotiate a conglomerate, i.e. the Scandinavian Airlines, with its 3 national labour unions.
Next year these unions will wake up with a huge hangover, and find that they have been estranged: The 3 integrated parts of SAS have been split up (=different "legal entities") - left to compete betweeen themselves.
Somebody at the top level obviously have performed a terrific move, and the ground level staff have not yet grasped its consequences.
This is extremely interesting. End of an era. Next chapter due in spring 2005.
