How odd this thread should appear now - just got a "Tornado" film on Movies for Men - interesting for a non Tornado mate

Onceapilot 12th May 2015 09:23

Great aircraft.

Are they not the Italian "loan" aircraft?

The removal from service of the F3 was a knee jerk reaction that even today may well come back to haunt us...imo.

Danny42C 19th May 2015 15:52

Onceapilot (your #5)

Scots Corner is the junction of the A1 and the A66. It is pretty well on the extended centre line of 16 at Leeming, but some 10 statute miles North.

just another jocky (your #7, pic 2),

Now that's what I call a trolley acc !

Oi Mods!
Foul I say, foul! What about:
Jump-jet mond... , no.
Bona Sunday...erm, no
Harrier Satu...,
This is a bloody conspiracy and now I'm not going to play with these ruffians anymore.
"Now where's me old photos? Ah yes, Falklands, Falklands, Deci, Belize...... The screens nurse, the screens! oh that's better"

Ja, Ich weiß, ....Hut, Mantel, Tür. ...

CoffmanStarter 19th May 2015 18:09

JS ... How about Half Day Closing 'Harrier' Wednesday ;)

NutLoose 19th May 2015 18:47

I was surprised the Lightning had the range or legs to get to Wednesday.

How about Harrier leap year... They can have Feb the 29th..... :p

jetslut 19th May 2015 18:59

JS ... How about Half Day Closing 'Harrier' Wednesday
BFPO47 felt like that at times
At the risk of yet another thread drift in favour of Kingston's finest, does anyone know if the BBC documentary that was made early eighties during one of the Hazel Flute or such other deployments is available anywhere on t'Web thing?
An epic performance by 'Zippy' at the deployment 'show'

Valiantone 19th May 2015 22:56

Well as there is a WIWOL post, how about one for the other English Electric twin jet?

Seeing as Grandfather was responsible for doing Safety and parachutes etc for the Canberra and Lightnings at Binbrook in the late 60s.

What about?

'We cant make the TOT with those headwinds everyday?'

"What do you mean I whimper when.....everyday"

"But I've got Zeus"

How long can I laugh?

That's because no days, or even months, start with "H" - so much for Harrier, Hunter, Hurricane...

But we could have a Spitfire Sunday !!

P6 Driver 20th May 2015 11:12

Mexe Pad Monday for the Harrier?

(That's thread drift on a topic that I started - quite sad...)

Courtney Mil 20th May 2015 11:53

Why would we want a thread for the Harrier anyway?

Onceapilot 20th May 2015 20:17

Do not worry Danny, I know where Scotch Corner is;)!

OAP

mikip 21st May 2015 07:00

If you really wanted a Harrier thread you could have a Hawker, gawker and talker tuesday

Courtney Mil 21st May 2015 21:58

...no you couldn't. Tuesday is now taken.

BBadanov 21st May 2015 23:15

...I think he meant Thursday ?

mikip 22nd May 2015 05:35

You are right I meant Thursday slip of the fingers probably bought on by lack of alcohol

BBadanov 22nd May 2015 05:52

...and I you're Irish, you of course would say "Tornado Turs-day"

Sideshow Bob 22nd May 2015 08:03

We were thinking of a Tristar Thursday but unfortunately it's already on a 24hr delay due to unserviceability.

Courtney Mil 22nd May 2015 08:11

Sideshow Bob, :D:D:D

Roadster280 22nd May 2015 10:52

So that would be Tristar Friday, surely?

Fox3WheresMyBanana 22nd May 2015 10:54

Tristar...next Tuesday, "..and that's set in pretty firm jelly."

Bit sporty that!

OT. bit
oddly enough I once had a GR handle physically fail it's interlock ground check, that was a bit of a surprise as we had hyds on at the time

Big Sy 26th May 2015 20:44

Question to everyone. Who in your opinion was the best F3/GR display pilot ?

Fox3WheresMyBanana 26th May 2015 20:46

Display crew, I think you meant.

Wrathmonk 26th May 2015 21:24

Come on then Big Sy - which one were you (or at least which year)? Give us a clue and then we can vote for you....;)

Big Sy 27th May 2015 07:50

To Fox. You are quite wright, i did mean crew.
Wrath. If only, i was only ever an enthralled spectator.
It would be interesting to see who get the most votes.:hmm:
