Now ... If it had been the German Dams ... :E

Just two Lancs...

If you were the hand on the throttles of Just Jane in that photo how tempted would you be to just get a foot of air under the wheels for the cameras, and sod ever being invited back?

I certainly know what I'd do.

Hopefully Nutty will be there with his camera ;)

Not going, getting anywhere near was going to be grief and having seen it twice I thought if I don't clog up the road it may give someone else the chance.

CoffmanStarter 21st Sep 2014 11:59

BBC News - Lancaster bombers flypast at 'Dambusters' Derwent Dam

Wwwop 21st Sep 2014 17:40

Derwent flypast took place followed by one run over Chatsworth. Superb! :D

A small but very enthusiastic crowd was at Chatsworth. We hadn't planned to go anywhere near Derwent preferring a lurk near J29 on the M1 instead. However, a BBMF tweet early afternoon mentioning Chatsworth got us up and out over the hills to the big House. Plenty of space.

Vera starts her journey home on Tuesday.

Wwwop's daughter.

My daughter who was at Chatsworth phoned me this afternoon as the two Lancasters flew over - so I could hear them.

That was a lovely thing to do. It is a long time since I sat on the RH mainwheel on Thumper holding the trolley acc connected (1971).

NutLoose 22nd Sep 2014 12:23

Filmed from both Lanc's, just look at the traffic!!!
