Geoff Hoon on BBC2

Just watched "Fighting the War" on BBC2.

Thought that Geoff Hoon, the Defence Secretary, came across as very genuine and caring in his comments on why he felt he had to be at Brize Norton for the return of the GW2 casualties.

The remarks about the GR4 crew taken out by the Patriot battery were quite moving.

We all love to knock 'Buffoon' but to say what he did, and take responsibility for being part of the reason these men died and to do it on national TV was a sign of true humanity.

I salute you sir, we have all heard very different tributes paid to brave men in the past, it's refreshing to hear such honesty and candour.

Now, how about a similar attitude to a certain Chinook accident in 1994?
