Possible Walt.

Does anyone know someone called Hamilton Males?

He’s claiming that he’s an RAF Veteran who was badly injured during parachute training and had to leave the RAF and is receiving lots of benefits and is also enrolled in “Flying Scholarships for Disabled People”.

A friend suspects that it might not be entirely true.

Any information would be helpful to check the veracity of his claims. I have no knowledge of how true or otherwise this may be.

I’ve just heard from the lady he used to live with that he served from the age of 16 to the age of 20.

Thanks all.

These 'Walt' hunts get a bit 'reds under the beds' don't they?
Surely the charity has established his eligibility?

Sadly, even some ex-Services bods can overinflate their Mil background - a sort of "Truth++".

A person I know left quite early and has done very well for himself I might add! But, on his various personal bios, what he did and what he claims he did just doesn't add up if, as more than likely, he followed a std career path until he left, a path much of which I did myself. It would be 1000000:1 if he'd done what he claims he did.

Me? My impact was summed up to me very nicely. I'd been given a task for me + 3 of my staff do in the 1990's as a priority over some 2 years. Some 5+ years after I'd been posted I popped back to meet the person (+ 1) now I/C.

In chatting I mentioned the important work that had been untrusted to me and my Team. "Ah!" he said "I've seen some old folders to do with that in the filing cupboard." so he heads over and drags them out for me.

The last thing filed was my "Project Handover brief" that I'd written when I left the Post to the previous guy to the one now in the job. After that ziltch, nowt, nada, SFA!!!!!!! It's then that I realised the true extent of my contribution to the "Defence of if the Realm" over almost 3 decades.........

Still, the pension is OK! 👍

Am I the only one who is uncomfortable with this thread?

I understand the strength of feeling around people who make false claims around military service and I largely share that feeling.

However... The OP in this thread has named an individual on the basis of nothing more than 'one of my mates thinks he might be dodgy' then other people have linked articles and photos of the guy.

The OP seems to feel that he has the right to trash this guys name in a public forum on the basis of the fact that what he's saying might not be entirely true.

But perhaps its true and perhaps he's just a guy who's had a tough time that does not deserve to have his integrity questioned on a public forum by some anonymous self-appointed keyboard warrior.

OH

The question was asked, answers given, and Wholigan's inquiry seems to be complete.
