Is Australia about to "Cancel the Barbie"

Australias Threat Level System

· Level 1, Lowest - “No worries”

· Level 2 Higher - “She’ll be alright, Mate.”

· Level 3 Higher still - “Crikey! I think we’ll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!”

· Level 4 Emergency - “The barbie is cancelled.”

So far, no situation has ever warranted the barbie cancellation - (level 4) to be implemented.

Totally unsubstatiated romours are flying like crazy around my small town in the last few hours where almost everyone has a relative in the military, works for the military, contracts to the military etc etc.

"prepare for the 28th" is the talk. What that refers to, I have no idea, but I have not seen rumour mongering intensity like this before. No one is saying anything concrete. No confirmation, no published orders...nothing. No one is talking either....officially at least. Yet the town is abuzz with whispers. I don't really know how to describe it.
